A thanksgiving proposal

I generall do Thanksgiving with my best friend and high school classmate who's in Maine, although in recent years I've actually managed TWO Thanksgiving celebrations by have one event with relatives in southern Vermont first then ehading to Maine.
The Maine friend is off visiting grandchildren this year, so to keep up the two events experience I'll see if I can fit something in. It would probably be Friday sometime, but so far it sounds like there may be food that day as well.

If the consensus is Friday, I can do that. -- this could be a 3 thanksgiving year -
-- Thanksgiving day with my mother and step-father, and a later thanksgiving with my father and step-mother.

I think the plans are made.

Thursday - regular small thanksgiving dinner, tamale making classes, hanging out etc.

Friday - Forum Thanksgiving Happy Fun Time with tamales & deep fried turkey, hanging out, trip to the foreign markets etc.

Tell her you have Monkey Pox, and you don't want to spread it...

Hey, uh... can I barge in on this proposal? I'd love to attend one of the Thanksgiving days with you folks!

If we settle on a place and time soon, I will likely be there! (wait too long, and I may take up other plans).

And, hopefully, there will be at least a little bit of vegetarian food, for me.

The place and time are relatively settled, Mumchups on thursday and friday, with the more people being there friday.

Here's hoping Senex doesn't show up looking like this:

I'm sure we can scare up some food that doesn't contain meat for Wowbagger and any others who, inexplicably, don't want to eat deep fried turkey. :D

Seriously, there should be plenty that falls into the vegetarian category. If I know for a fact that you (or another veggie) are coming, I'll be sure to have something appropriate.

But, and I want to make this absolutely clear, NO TOFURKEY. If you try to bring a tofurkey into my house, you will be taken out back and deep fried.

And what if that is exactly what he wants to happen?

You think he's interested in the Oil Spa treatment? Whatever... I'm a don't ask, don't tell kinda girl.

Wowbagger, don't worry I'm not going to let you escape the "tamalada" either. I can make the sweet tamales without any animal fat, and we can get creative with a vegie tamale just for you. ;)

On that note, as I'm running through my head about all the ingredients I want to add to the sweet tamales (and the list is a long one) are there any food allergies from the folks coming that I should be aware of? ... like nuts?... cinnamon?... anything else?

Don't want to send anyone to the hospital... :boxedin:

I have no other dietary concerns.

In fact, I am not a very strict vegetarian, either. (I think more than a few TAM attendees witnessed me ingesting a few small slivers of meat in my Thai cuisine at the Lotus of Siam. I took out the bigger, more noticable chunks, but inevitably a few probably escaped my examination.)

Yeah! Stupid work! It won't be the same without you.
...maybe you'll get "food poisoning" from the turkey on Thursday?...
