A thanksgiving proposal

Yeah, the tropical island cake, complete with lava, was pretty awesome.

Peanut brittle sounds delish!!!
 
I severely doubt I will need to crash there, on Friday evening. But, if I change my mind, and there is no room for me, I can just sleep in my car.... or in a kitchen cabinet.... It wouldn't be the first time I've done either.

We've got a smallish house, 1 extra bedroom and 2 large couches. Plus room for a couple air matresses (it's BYOAM) But the guest house* will have electricity this time around. Bring blanket/pillow if you're thinking of staying over; it turns out we are crappy hosts and don't have enough of that sort of thing on hand.
There will be beer though, we are not savages....


* the camper. 1 bedroom, 2 pull out beds.
 
I will not have to stay over (only an hour and a half away) and I was thinking of bringing cheesecake.
 
If anyone needs to crash I'll be headed back to my parents place afterward and theres room there. It's in CT so I'm going back afterward and it's big enough to have a couple people stay.

BTW: Do we have a final on the time table for this?
 
Thanx for this thread, gang! We're on Brit holidays in Hong Kong, so turkey day isn't even a day off. I miss Thanksgiving, and rushing home from work or over to someone's house (or to a buffet at one of the hotels) is just not the same.

So, I'm enjoying my feast day vicariously through you folks. Please post lots of descriptions of the eats! (Won't someone think of the expats?)
 
Attractive ladies, beer, AND cheesecake- tempting. But this may be a tough one for me to make. Will be visiting in Southern VT with a big bunch of relatives-some coming in from the Pacific NW and my 97 year old Aunt. It still looks like a 3 hour trip, so if I can't get away at a reasonable hour on friday will have to take a rain (snow?) check. Let's see what happens.
 
I'll save one of Stop Sylvia Browne pinata's claws for you to toss in the fire just in case (ShowerComic can have the other claw and of course our decapitator extraordinairre Mattfn gets the head).
 
Time on Firday is early afternoon. It's an informal sort of thing so I was planning a grazing buffet for eating. When you get here, when you feel hungry, you can eat some. I recommend the tamales & fried turkey. And the cheesecake.
We'll have to post pics for Fool on Hong Kong....
 
Does 12:01 PM count as early afternoon? I could probably be there, that early. But, if it is too early for you, I can get there later.
I can even help set things up, in some capacity, before the total sum of everyone arrives, if you'd like.

Don't forget to have the vegetarian options ready.

How late do you think this thing will go to on Friday? I'll be driving my mom back to CT from NY on Friday. Mumchup, how far are you from North Haven, CT? Send me your address - if I get back early enough maybe I'll come by for a visit. Can I bring the SuperCorgi?
 
If I come back on Friday, I won't get there until almost 5:30, best traffic scenario. I'm curious too to see who'd still be grazing then! :D
 
Louie is most welcome, although I must warn you that Ariadne Puppington sometimes doesn't appreciate visiters. But her method of showing disapproval is to completely ignore the other dog. It's pretty funny.... Plus, she's only a little Italian Greyhound, so she couldn't physically threaten even if she wanted to.

I'll pm my phone & directions.

(lost a Hamradioguy but gained a Super Corgi, I guess we're about even)

Actually, I may end up a bit later than that, because of traffic and such. Who knows... But I intend to be there around that time!

I vote for the supercorgi and any other dogs anyone wants to bring. Dogs rock

Edit: I mean, I'm not saying it's my decision to envite dogs over to someone's house, but that's just my 2-cents
