By copying a few sentences out of context, the reader does not recognize:
(1) I did NOT (and do NOT) claim to be a medium. I never have. However, I have admitted for years to having "personal sporadic intuitions" (which I now call P.S.I.) especially in showers....
I have written about some of my personal sporadic intuitions in The G.O.D. Experiments. Also, in both of my books on afterlife research I talk about how anyone, in theory, has the potential to at times have intuitions which may be valid. Nothing is being hid here....
(2) That whatever sporadic experiences I may have had in the shower related to the son, I sought formal confirmation and extension with Mr. Knopf's preferred medium, Laurie Campbell (also part of the letter)....It was Laurie's confirmations and extensions that led me to share some shower experiences in that letter....I shared the sporadic intuitions as a way of conveying that it was possible that only trained and confirmed mediums could get information related to their son, but open-minded individuals could potentially obtain relevant information as well....and someday, they might be able to do the same....
Mr. Knopf was in continuous contact with Laurie at that time....She was giving him all kinds of advice purportedly from his son....SHE WAS HIS MEDIUM....What I tried to do was put into words the kinds of thoughts that popped into my head when I imagined asking the son questions in my head in the shower....
I give two examples of personal sporadic intuition in The G.O.D. Experiments book - you should read it. I describe how I asked the Universe a question (once at Yale, later at the University of Arizona, and received information that could verify....
However, because I have personal sporadic intuitions does not make me a medium or a psychic....I can not do these things on command....I do not seek to do readings for people, etc....
Just as you can take out of context that the University of Arizona accepted funds from Mr. Knopf, you can take out of context that I had intuitions about his son that I tried to put into words in a letter....
The key point is what I said in my statement on my website. It was only information from the medium, Laurie Campbell, that I took seriously and conveyed to Mr. Knopf about what his son might be wishing....
I am sharing this with you as a friend....You can quote it if you like....It disturbs me that people are leaking so-called evidence, out of context, to make their fallacious case....
Again, for the record, you should explain that I do not hide that I have an intuitive side. I have acknowledged this openly in The G.O.D. Experiments book. However, I am EXTRAORDINARILY CAUTIOUS about making claims about my own sporadic intuitions - as this book clearly states....
People should read The G.O.D. Experiments book....I have nothing to hide here....
But I will allow people to make the claim that I pass myself off as a medium or psychic....I merely play with intuitions....And I encourage open minded and open hearted people to do the same....
Blessings, Gary
