9/11: the musical...

This one just wrote itself...

(tune: Simon and Garfunkel's "The Boxer")

Dylan's just a poor boy, and his story's seldom told
He lives out in Oneonta, tried to get into the film school, showed no promise there
He lies and jests
He's a man who hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest

When he left his home and his family, he was no more than a boy
In the company of Jason, in the quiet of the railway station running scared
Laying low, seeking out the poorer quarters where the wacky people go
Looking for the places no JREFer knows

("lie-la-lie" part goes here)

Asking only workman's wages, he went looking for a job but he got no offers
Just a come-on from that wacky Prison Planet dude
I do declare, it appears that he was so lonesome he took some comfort there

("lie-la-lie" part goes here)

On the corner stands a Troofer, he's a fighter for his cause
But he carries the reminders, of that debunk that laid him out
And cut him till he cried out, in his anger and his shame
I am leaving, I am leaving, but the Troofer still remains...

("lie-la-lie" part, to end)

Here ya go, Qarnos. Any input is welcome.. :)

Everything but the Truth

(to the tune of "Old Time Religion," to be sung with brio. Of if brio isn't available, camemberto)

Give me a You Tube video,
Give me a You Tube video,
Give me a You Tube video,
It’s the only proof I see!

Don’t want no trained researchers,
Don’t want no trained researchers,
Don’t want no trained researchers,
You Tube’s the only proof I see!

Won’t read no genuine studies,
Won’t read no genuine studies,
Don’t study no genuine studies,
You Tube’s the only proof I see!

Won’t listen to no eyewitness,
Won’t listen to no eyewitness,
Won’t listen to no eyewitness,
You Tube’s the only proof I see!

Don’t give me structural analyses,
Don’t give me structural analyses,
Can’t take no structural analyses,
You Tube’s the only proof I see!

(Hallellujah!)

Them skeptics is closed-minded,
(Yes, Lord!)
Oh, them skeptics is closed-minded,
Them skeptics so closed-minded,
You Tube’s the only proof for me!

(Oh, please, Lord,)

Give me a You Tube video,
Just give me a You Tube video,
Yes, give me a You Tube video,
It’s the only proof I see!

(Amen!)

Move over, Simon and Garfunkel, and make room for:

Qarnos and Jhunter

We may not have the vocal stylings and musicianship of the former, but we have... well... not much. But we did record this song:

Qarnos and Jhunter - The Bollocks-er

(scroll down if you have to - it's there somewhere!)

Enjoy!

I think I've had it with that site. Try downloading from here. For a free service it seems pretty good. They only allow 1gb of data a day, but I can't see that being a problem for this!

Awesome!! :) :) :)

I almost have a soft spot for Dylan after hearing that. Something about the detailed guitar playing, the lyrics and the lovely voice made me go all wistful and mellow towards him. Poor screwed-up kid.

I noticed some new lyrics before the last verse, too. Fantastic job! I love you guys. :)

Lovely voice? You must be talking about Jhunter! I think I ruined some of his good work with my backing vocals! :D

I've started a new thread in the humor section for some non-CT songs if anyone is interested. Nothing there yet - just myself trying to find the next Bobby Kimball.

I'd like to add something a bit more poignant, mostly because I've hit one of my many levels with these insipid conspiracy morons. Alex Baker's songs have links scattered through the lyrics, and I thought I'd make a couple of additions of my own. So here's my version of "Blown to Kingdom Come" with some more appropriate links:

"Let us never tolerate outrageous conspiracy theories concerning the attacks of September the 11th, malicious lies that attempt to shift the blame away from the terrorists themselves, away from the guilty."
-- George W. Bush, November 11, 2001

I hear people knockin'
9/11 truth.
They call us tin foil
hat wearin’ kooks, but
What about the jet planes
flyin’ all around
While "our" mighty air defenses
were standin’ down?
They say that we should blindly
Believe "our" government
Before you start your preaching
Let me ask you this my friend...

Have you forgotten
What we saw as one?
Oh those towers turned to dust
They were blown to kingdom come.
Have you forgotten
Just how fast they fell?
Office fires can’t do that
No there ain’t no way in hell
And you try to blame it all
upon bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

"We've had such terrible loss of life, maybe the smartest thing to do is--is pull it. And they made that decision to pull and then we watched the building collapse."
-- Larry Silverstein, "America Rebuilds" (PBS) September 10, 2002

They destroyed the molten metal
From the WTC
It’s too incriminating
For you to see
That would blow the cover
That would solve the crime
The biggest inside job
Of all time
Some see a police state
Comin’ into view
After 9/11 man
I'd have to say that's true

Have you forgotten
What we saw as one?
Oh those towers turned to dust
They were blown to kingdom come
Have you forgotten
Just how fast they fell?
Office fires can’t do that
No there ain’t no way in hell.
The "confession tape"
Looks nothing like bin Laden.

Have you forgotten? ("...outrageous conspiracy theories...")
Have you forgotten? ("...outrageous...")
Have you forgotten? ("...outrageous...")

They got their new Pearl Harbor
To justify their wars.
The power and the money
That’s what they did it for.

Have you forgotten
All the people killed?
As the empire marches on
Down to the oil fields.

Have you forgotten
About “our” Pentagon?
All the loved ones that we lost
To the Neo-Cons.

Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten?

Face the truth.
Forget about bin Laden.
Have you forgotten? ("...outrageous conspiracy theories...")
Have you forgotten? ("...outrageous conspiracy theories...")

Forget about ("...outrageous...")
Forget about bin Laden
Forget about ("...conspiracy theories...")
Forget about bin Laden

Have you forgotten?

No, have you?

Nice stuff, Rahne! I should check this thread more often.

Here is a quickie I just worked up in the last half hour. It was too tempting to resist! Feel free to make suggestions. If I get a chance, I'll try to record it - but I've got a couple of other items queued up at the moment, and my balloon doesn't manufacture itself. :)

Lyrics said:
EMT (To the tune of AC/DC's TNT)

Oi! Oi! (etc)

I rode in from the sunset
On Dylan's computer screen.
He didn't know who I really was;
Troy from WV.
Truthers to the left of me
And truthers to the right.
I'm a smoking gun.
I'm the light of their life.
I'm their shining knight.

I'm Mike the EMT. It was dynamite.
EMT. You know I'm right!
EMT. What would JREFers know?
EMT. I saw seven implode!

I'm dirty, mean, and like Charlie Sheen,
I'm a crazy man.
I'm just using them for some fun.
Understand?
So lock up your daughter.
Lock up your wife.
Lock up your back door,
And run for your life.
The man is back in town.
So don't you mess around...

I'm Mike the EMT. It was dynamite.
EMT. You know I'm right!
EMT. What would JREFers know?
EMT. I saw seven implode!

TNT, oi, oi, oi.
TNT, oi, oi, oi.
TNT, oi, oi, oi.
TNT, oi, oi, oi.
TNT, oi, oi, oi. It was dynamite.
TNT, oi, oi, oi. You know I'm right!
TNT, oi, oi, oi. What would JREFers know?
TNT. I saw seven implode!

Indeed, quickies are often too tempting to resist :p

(Nicely done, qarnos!)

I promise I'll get round to recording some of this stuff soon - in an "LC:FC will be out this year" kinda way. :)

Bwahahahaha!!! Love it, qarnos!!! :newlol

Bump, dammit! More people should be enjoying this thread!

Okay, so I finally got around to talking some musician types into playing, singing and recording the parody I wrote a while back to the tune of Piano Man by Billy Joel, and they are now finishing it up. Tomorrow, I will have a cd of the recording.

So, my question is this: how do I convert it from cd to mp3 (or whatever other format I should be converting it to) and then how/where do I upload it to the internet so that I can share it here?

In the meantime, I will also take this opportunity to repeat the links to the excellent musical works that have been created in this thread for the benefit of those who haven't heard them yet, and for the benefit of those who have but who want to hear them again :) :

The song that Mercutio started it all with, (with vocals by Jhunter and mixing by Greyleonard), Reviewing the Situation, is here:

http://www.zinzang.com/music/Reviewing%20the%20Situation-911%20The%20Musical.mp3

“It’s Like a Religion” by Qarnos is here:

http://home.iprimus.com.au/qarnos/It's%20Like%20a%20Religion.mp3

Killtown (Leave That Poor Woman Alone)" by Qarnos is here:

http://home.iprimus.com.au/qarnos/Killtown%20(Leave%20That%20Poor%20Woman%20Alone).mp3

Who Put the Bomb in the Penta-pentagon (Hilarious!) by Jhunter and Qarnos is here:

http://www.mediamax.com/qarnos

This one is "Loose Change Forums", with apologies to America's "Ventura Highway", by Qarnos:
http://www.mediamax.com/qarnos

This one by Qarnos and Jhunter speaks for itself:
The Bollocks-er

As does Brodski's "Truth on Our Side"

http://www.brodski.homechoice.co.uk/...HonOurSide.mp3

Now, back to my initial question... what do I need to do exactly with the cd recording to make it accessible on the interwebs?
