July 2007 Stundie Nominations

It was a response to me claiming we shouldn't trust Judy Wood's work on aluminium given that she thinks energy beams brought down the towers.
You got that completely backwards. Read his post again. This is the Stundies, not the Misunderstandies.

Id like to nominate this as a case study in bias from PhantomWolf

So basically, you're nominating him for not engaging in an ad hominem attack?

William Rea is gonna love this one!

:D

ETA: Alas, it's ineligible, as you've failed to include a link! Anyone else got one? I'd like to see the context.

I know we don't usually do typos

But we need to make an except.

Before I got to open the link, I really did think the post was about truther's thinking Dian Fossey had trained some apes to attack oil infrastructure. Cause honestly in the history of what some of those people have come out with, that sounds like something they'd think.

And then I realised he meant Marxist Guerillas not Gorillas.

Gorillas Set Fire To Gas Lines, WILL ATTACK IN MEXICO HAPPEN IN U.S.?

And I wasn't alone. Their first reaction was

do you mean guerilla?

still scary...just in a different way

When I first read the title, I thought Gorillas made some sort of evolutionary jump and were attacking people

From here.

Haha! As funny as that is 8den, I'm going to have to reject it. It's still a spelling mistake, and the general rule for spelling mistakes and typos is that there has to be some sort of irony in the mistake.

Hilarious as that is (and it is!), I'm very sorry to say that it just doesn't qualify.

It's Conquest of the Planet of the Apes all over again.

Swing Dangler, in response to allegations that North Koreans worship Kim Jong-Il as a god:

Swing Dangler said:
The North Korea site states what the country is: "A country totally dedicated to the Great Leader Kim Il-sung, his Juche ideology and his son the Dear Leader, Kim Jong-il."

I don't see any god like attributes pasted upon Kim. I don't see a traditional service dedicated to him mentioned at the site.

A caption to a picture:
One of about five billion pictures of Kim Il-sung. Here the caption reads,
"Our revered father Comrade Kim Il-sung will be forever in our hearts".
I don't see anything about his god-like stature in a country that supposedly has a leader that is a god.

Another caption:
"Led by our great general we will win!"

QUOTE (Fulcanelli @ Jul 13 2007, 07:15 PM)
i think there were no passengers on any planes ... i think they landed somewhere .. while ghost planes took off ... what happened to the passengers? i have my ideas ... but obviously they are either all dead or enslaved somewhere.

tha'ts one theory, and probably just as good as any theory at this point.

it does seem like at least one body from flight 11 or 175 would find its way out of the building and onto the street immediately after impact... did that happen? I don't know for sure...

cuz you know, they said a passport from a hijacker did this... and it's only made out of paper.

Personally, I can't decide whether all of the flights were replaced by "other flights" or whether the real flights hit the targets... but it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. Sure, we'd like to know this to have a better sense of reality, but NOT knowing doesn't keep us from making conclusions about how was responsible for 9/11

Its all abhorrent really, but the last paragraph says it all.
The last sentence is stundie material.

Here's a good one from everybody's favourite NaziGirl. Rei Murasame at LCF:

https://www.mi5careers.gov.uk/job.aspx?jobid=46

Except the problem is that when you do, you find that Mobile Surveillance Officers have a limited time to apply, and that Intelligence Officers are simply not what they're looking for right now.

Their site design has changed though - I liked their old site better. It's funny how they have time to change their site and make it ugly, but they don't have the ability to stop people from driving a flaming jeep into Glasgow Airport.

Yeah, because all those IT guys should be out kicking in terrorist's doors....
