So,

It is now official. I just got back from the latest Directors meeting for Dragon*Con this year and finalized a new event. A DEBATE between two teams.

Michael Shermer and Ben Radford

VS.

The Woo Team (the two people are TBA)

It will happen at Dragon*Con 2007, in Atlanta, Georgia on August 31st - September 3rd, at the Downtown Hilton Atlanta.

Room and exact time and day TBA

Also, both Radford and Shermer will be speaking at many other panels and events all through the 4 days. Ben is going to be showing his short film once again, and the Skeptic track will have tons of great content from many other Skeptics and both of them as well.

One hint, IF you want to come, get you convention passes/tickets NOW, in a couple days they will go up in price, and then once more in July. So, it is now the cheapest time to get them.

I'll look forward to seeing you there. It should be a blast... now I have to convince those folks from Skeptics Guide to come and do a live show from the con... since I control the schedule for OUR events I can do that... ;)
 
Argh! A bunch of cool skeptics are coming to my town and I'll be in Alaska cruising with a bunch of cool skeptics... ! Oh wait... :)

I do wish I could make this though :( Nobody cool ever comes to Atlanta!
 
Well...

THEY are coming to Atlanta now... but it is YOU that is leaving. I think, though, a couple folks from the JREF said they MIGHT come for the first couple days before going up to the Cruise... :|

I know that at least Jeff Wagg is coming for the first couple days of Dragon*Con. And then leaving right from there to the cruise. :)
 
Yes,

In fact, we are going to have Pam from AstronomyCast, since Frasier can't make it this year, me and Swoopy will be co-hosting that with her live. Also, there might be a small chance that myself and Swoopy will do a live Skepticality. Unless the Skeptics Guide, or Point of Inquiry make it to the con. I haven't received confirmation from either of them yet. :|

Update!

They officially invited George Hrab to play at Dragon*Con 2007! So, George will be doing a real stage show at the convention this year.

Even MORE cool stuff!

Also, the Mythbusters, Jeff Wagg, and others... :)
 
Ya,

His first one is out of print for a real crappy reason. If you listen to the episode of our Skepticality show where I interview him... you will learn why... Very sad story.... :|
 
So, what's a Dragon Con?

I picked up some friends that were at something called "A-Kon" in Dallas last month.
