I just found this, and I thought I would share with the rest of the class. A few days ago the Student "Scholars" for 9/11 "Truth" did their own debate with... Franklin Pierce College Republicans.

Yeah, it's pretty bad. Seems just a little... slanted. Nothing really new, either- just regurgitating the Alex Jones / Jim Fetzer line.

Poor kids.

Seriously. I would love to see these kids get the intellectual smack down. I watched 6 minutes of "ONE BIN LADEN TAPE!!!!!!!!!" and all I could do was sit here and know they were wrong. I know Mark would have pointed it out, but these college republican kids seemed vastly undereducated on the subject.

*disclaimer* I have not watch them yet *disclaimer*

Is this another, we don't have an opponent, so one of our side will play the role of opponent bs debates?

I haven't watched all of them yet- but that appears to be the case. Although they stipulate that they are not representing the College Republicans- it looks as if the Students group needed someone to go after- and wanted to make it a left/right issue.

Neither side in this debate really seems to be very informed on the issues- then again, maybe I just expect a bit more from higher education...

It is possible to argue for the side of the debate that you don't personally support, but you have to really want to be fair and debate properly. I mean, I was able to do that in my Argumentation class; but it's not easy, and I really don't see Twoofers, with their continual biases, being able to pull it off.

I love the caption

"Justin A. Martell
D- Conneticut"

You would think he would know how to spell the state he is from.

Student scholars indeed.

And what is with that shirt?!

Note it's not "Liberal scholars..." Maybe they just couldn't find anyone else to debate?

This is kind of like Mark Roberts debating my sister on 9/11. The funny thing is, I don't expect much beyond this type of thing from the twoofers, even the baby twoofers.

TAM:)

I suspect that these two students are quite liberal themselves and they were probably the ones who suggested going up against the College Republicans.

Although it is claimed that Operation Northwoods proposed killing US sailors, that it a stretch and appears to be based on this:

(10) Sabotage ship in harbor; large fires -- napthalene.

(11) Sink ship near harbor entrance. Conduct funerals for mock-victims (may be lieu of (10)).

See? They didn't talk about funerals for mock victims in #10, so they must have been planning to kill real sailors!:boggled:

Bomb the Reichstag ?

Bomb the Reichstag ?

BOMB THE REICHSTAG?

Oh Justin, Justin, Justin.

And yea, what was up with that shirt?

I have, on numerous occasions, remarked that were I to ever encounter truthers at Melbourne University they would be challenged and debunked. I have not yet encountered such a thing - but my camera is at the ready if it ever doth happen.

Melbourne University? I had a public debate with a fundamentalist creationist staged outside the Library there back in 1992. That was a lot of fun, and I tore him to shreds. :D Didn't study there though, went to LaTrobe.

Cheers,

Hitler setting fire to the Reichstag is somthing that was believed more readily closer to the events than now. It is pretty unsure as to what actually happened in 1933

I am, as it were, ready for the fight!

Say, know anything about "The LaRouche Youth Science Momement", or something like that...?

It's not often one gets such a clear glimpse into his own future.

I hope these boys eventually see this meeting with the Ghost of Scholar Future for the warning that it is.
