Whether you agree with Bill Maher or not, the fact that he can say such things about our leaders proves beyond a reasonable doubt, that we indeed live in a FREE country.

The freedom to critisize your leaders is the most important freedom citizens of any country can have.

I don't care what the conspiracy theorists think...this land is a land of free men!!!

Actually we're putting Maher in a FEMA death camp next week, so he's a bad example.

You know what I find incredibly funny?

Bill Maher was fired and Politically Incorrect taken of the air because of politically incorrect statements made by Maher.

Yes...he lost his job. But he wasn't arrested. No jackbooted thugs came knocking down his door.

According to twoofers, it is not a free society.

If there was no freedom, the jack-booted minions would be around every corner patrolling the streets.

The irony is that twoofers say their without their rights and lost their freedoms, yet they still say whatever slanderous filth they want without being told not to.

Do you find it funny ha-ha, or funny ironic, or funny odd-and-kinda-scary?

Maher does believe in some weird conspiracies, particularly ones involving medicines and prescription drugs.

There appears to be no chance of that happening. He thinks the 9/11 conspiracy theories are idiotic.

Has he said this? As this topic becomes more and more and more mainstream, I would bet he'll be one of the first to open it up for debate on his show. Whether he personally believes it or not.

Maher is pretty funny and I don't attach any special significance to his work.

Remember: Most of us in the world aren't Americans. We like people such as Maher and Colbert because they make us laugh at the (seemingly few) Americans capable of laughing about themselves.

I disagree. America has a rich tradition of laughing at itself. We gave the world Saturday Night Live, Lenny Bruce, Bill Hicks. Colbert, John Stewart, Maher. And if you don't agree, we'll nuke ya back to the stoneage!

Are you referring to the Ward Churchill interview from a couple seasons ago? Or something recent? (I don't have HBO, so I missed this season).
What I saw was a few months ago. I've also seen disparaging comments about Maher on truther sites because he made fun of them.

Yes, he is considered a gatekeeper. He's such a stoner, I doubt he'd be able to concentrate long enough to look at either side's argument. Just Ward Churchill. :boggled:

Lenny I'll give you.

But SNL is almost exclusively a Canadian creation.

You probably know that. Kids in the Hall too. And Monty Python, a huge hit in the USA, is from the UK.

Did you know that Art Linkletter was from Saskatchewan?

Bwa! A few posts ago you were slobbering at the prospect of adding Maher to your little list and now he's a gatekeeping stoner.

I need a graphic for sour grapes now.
