Buzz lightyear and the JREF Challenge

Not so big on the Crowley , hey Gzuz ?

A while ago, I came to the conclusion that Crowley did not have that much new or profound to say. He understood quite well to disguise this. Nowadays, he'd probably be a media darling; like a cross between Paris Hilton (the emptiness) and Jim Morrison (drugs, egocentrism and sissiness).

The chapter "Ipsissimus" in the official biography by John Symonds "The Beast 666" reveals the center of Frater Perdurabo; who would have killed himself a million times if he hadn't had access to the various drugs he used. Perdurabo mein tuckus.

Well Gzuz , we are in agreemant about Mr Crowley . For me he has been a study in how not to pursue the occult .
He did however seem to have one success with his invocation in the great pyramid . From listening to a recording of one of his chants I believe that it may have been mildly operative in that structure .
Also the fact that the entity chose Rose to inhabit is telling . From my own experience a disincarnate entity will not inhabit the body with a corrupted soul . Crowley was definately this .
From reading his other writings , I don't believe that he composed "The Book of The Law" . It is too direct and multi layered .

And desertyeti , here is another sandstone querie , it this another secondary cementing or just petrified dog turd ?

Hey Tricky , you old stick in the mud , nice to hear from you again.
Hey Buzz. Still there in infinity and beyond?;)

You won't get a lot out of a dried up lake bed . If you want to get into the indepth stuff you need to track down something like this .

Looks a bit like cave travertines. I'd have to get up close to say for sure.

So if the errosive agent isnt salt ,what do you think it is?
Salt is a really crappy erosive agent. It is really soft, even in halite (crystal) form, plus it dissolves in water, so it is not part of any kind of stream erosion or anything.

It can be corrosive, but not so much as lots of other stuff, like carbonic acid in normal rainfall. Normally salt just deposits on stuff.

Of course, I'm talking about NaCl, though there are many kinds of "mineral salts" with different characteristics.

Thanks!

Gets 10/10. That's pretty slick, Buzz.

If only you could use your talent. Have you ever thought about a sales career, mate? I could get you a job any time. I have a couple of contacts in Melbourne and guys like you are rare.

Well Gzuz , we are in agreemant about Mr Crowley .
...

If anything, you have put the "man" back in "agreemant".

If Crowley really was the "man" behind the concepts of the "Crowley Tarot", one would have to give him credit for the conceptional and artistical value. Not only do the cards reflect quite a few of the common "occult" symbols, they also possess the "spirit" of someone who definitely put his being into them; strictly artistical speaking. It is reported, that Lady Frieda Harris did the legwork, if you will: handjob, on this project. However, I came to the conclusion that this represents "Mr. Crowley"'s (Black Sabbath) best effort. He knew about the history of the deck, and very well might have calculated his efforts to create (t)his unique version of it. As the magus said: "Do what thou wilt!"

I haven't checked out this whole thread, but all of the things I've seen in the last couple of pages look like natural geomorphology. Polygonal patterns are especially common because as rocks cool or decompress, they fracture in regular patterns.

But really, there are some spectacular formations that you just gotta say "wow" about. Often they're named either "God's ____" or "Devil's ___" or something. Check out this one I call Devil's Penis.

Still out here , Tricky .
What do you know about "cave travertines" ?

Also Desertyeti has been telling me that these formations are dessication cracks . What is your opinion .

Still waiting for you to reveal something for the last 261 messages.

Also, you mentioned in msg #140 "Unfortunately the Arabs pretty well buggered it [the Great Pyramid], but it still ran well enough for me to get through to Rose Crowley back in 1904." and in msg #427 you say "From my own experience a disincarnate entity will not inhabit the body with a corrupted soul . Crowley was definately this ." Comments in [] are to clarify what you were talking about.

Because the only way you are able to travel back in time is to inhabit someone's body, (msg #140) how were you able to get through to Rose when you leave your body behind when you " trip " ? I assume you are talking about Rose since that is the last Crowley you mentioned. And why does Wikipedia not mention that Rose was contacted in the Great Pyramid?

Crowley spent a night with Rose in the great pyramid in 1903 .
During the evening he performed an " invocation " which he claimed produced sufficient light for them to see by . He also lamented that nothing else happened .
The following autum he performed the same " invocation " , this time Rose become delerious and told him that ' they ' wanted to communicate with him . The story goes on how this entity " Awasis" dictated "The Book of The Law " .

Somewhere in my cosmic adventures I have ended up with Egyptian contacts . And since the great pyramid is the only man made acoustic vessel in that area I'm taking a punt that this is where I ended up .

So far I have been using this " Book of The Law " as an operators manual for outworld adventures and it has proved to be spot on . So the thought that I organised its production is very appealing .

They could well be desiccation cracks. If the cracks are filled with some other substance (like a lime-rich mud) then buried, the lime "cement" between the cracks, being more water-soluble, may erode before the mudstone.

I can't tell from that picture. What kind of rock is it in? Cracks formed from desiccation (one of the worlds most difficult-to-spell words) would normally be in mudstones (sedimentary). However similar looking patterns occur in other rocks, such as these. They are a columnar basalt (igneous) formed by regular fracturing as the basalt cooled and expanded. The top was then sheared off and polished by a glacier, leading to what looks like a paved patio. I took this picture on top of the Devil's Postpile National Monument near Yosemite.
