Anna Nicole Smith is DEAD?

Well there goes another lovely piece of tail I'll never get.:(

First Barbero. Now this. The horror.

(No. I didn't mean I wanted the horse's tail.)

It's not too late for you and Barbaro. If you're into sadism, necrophilia and beastialty then you'd get turned on by beating a dead horse.

i just don't get that reason. Now if she had contributed something important, or had died doing something valiant, then that would make a difference to me.
That's cool. It will make a diff to a lot of folks, though. Especially once they figure out the cause. Especially since she was young. And celebrity is mostly nothing but hype in the long run - yet it does make a diff. For any number of reasons.

Five months ago, we've got a 38 year old woman who just gave birth to a daughter, and her 20 year old son is with her.

Now we've just got the 5 month old baby.

They'll be running with this for awhile. Won't be like Princess Di, but this is gonna be big. Even if it maybe shouldn't be.

What gets me is that CNN is giving this live, breathless coverage. Because this is so much more important that everything else going on in the world.

And that is why i don't watch the news. :)

Wikipedia admins would jsut like to make the following short statement to mark the occasion:

Oh f*** INCOMMING!!!!!

I hear ya'. I finally get my mind off of soiled astronaut diapers, and now my brain is on old soiled gym-socks from Nicole's heyday.

(Geeze, another horse reference. What IS my problem today?)

I wonder if the combatants in the Iraqi war will hold a cease fire in her honor. Probably not.

While you attempt to rein in your glut for hype, you are saddled with guilt as you jockey for position to get a peek at the starting gate.

And they're off!

And that makes a difference how?

Honestly, so many people have died within the last hour, and every one of those deaths is a tragedy, i just fail to see why i should care more about this death that the many other deaths that happened within the last hour.

I don't see her as having contributed anything important to the world, i don't see having done anything more than some random prostitute on the street that also died within the last hour.

I seriously don't get it.

Btw, if you want me to not have this chat in here, i will of course cease and desist.

might as well have this chat in here unless I'm wrong and some forum members are distraught at her death.

I wouldn't expect you to care more about her death than any other stranger's death. I don't care much either (of course, I think it's a shame when a 39 year old dies but I'm not going to mourn her). But when the media and pop culture push someone's image on you so often over the past 15 years and that person dies it's going to raise people's interest because we know more about this person than some stranger in Boise.

Personally, I clicked on the story as soon as I saw it at CNN.com.

Okay, everyone whose first thought was "drug O.D." raise your hands.

:w2:

Most cancers haven't been cured, yet, and the likelihood just got a small but finite amount smaller?

I clicked it, then realized i didn't care and closed it down without reading it.
