LC:FC in PREproduction for over 1 year?!

Well its says Universal Pictures 2006 on that headline, and it says screeners and for your consideration.

Could be the Academy Awards promotion for industry critics and insiders to view these films so that they can be considered for the AA nominations. Usually, said studios would send out dvd'/svhs's of screeners to nominators, but due to the increased PIRACY of said screeners, having the studio control whom see it, is the next best way to promote their films for consideration.

This would also explain why "Children of Men" have a limited release listed on imdb.com in the US for December 2006 since a movie have to have been released in a specific year to come into consideration. They pulled a similar trick with one of the Disney animations one year. It was to old, but they re released it 2 months before the awards and then it was suddenly ok again.

Yep I realized that once I saw the "for your nomination" part. Dear FSM I hope Curious George doesn't get anything!

And those screeners are nice damnit!

My guess of the bat would see "United 93" take several statues and "Children of Men" taking best European. "United" because it the patriotic thing to do and "Children" because its the PC thing to do in a time with growing concern about environmental destruction and it's impact on the human species.

Has anyone else seen "An evening with Kevin Smith"?

I'm thinking of his "Superman" story, while reading Avery's little publicity blurb here. Is that wrong of me?

I own it, thought the samething, and NO! Maybe Do Over, can do a Prince "documentary"...LMFAO! Would serve him right!

Hey now, what's wrong with LC being in Production for a year?

Lord of the Rings was in prep and prod for about 6 years. I'm sure they're comparable. ;)

but it was turned down by several studios because of the cost and of course the warring of the Tolkien family members because they did not approve of Jackson's version of LotR.

New Line took it up after making very specific stipulations....

Does anyone else think that Dylan has overplayed his hand by showing that Hollywood Reporter page? How long does he think it's going to take to find the unedited page and post it, along with contact info for his mythical producer? I'll bet a beer that someone posts the unedited page here by 5 pm Eastern time today, 1/22/07. Any takers?

THREE executive producers? Is that normal? Why would that be required?

An executive producer credit is sometimes a courtesy to someone who provides some kind of assistance, whether that be cash, creative input, or the use of their 'name' to secure funding. In other cases the exec is the owner or high ranking employee of the production company that hires the producer to make the film. It's not unusual to have three, or even many more.

In this case it looks like two guys have set up a production company to make (and profit from) the film, and Jason gets the credit for his 'contributions'

LC will never make it to cinemas.

This of course will be blamed on the NWO controlling the media.

They are living in a fantasy world!

Wow. David Levy, renowned producer of such films as "A Midsummer Night's Rave" (4,4/10 at IMDB) and Male Mail (didn't even get an IMDB rating yet).

Let's see at one critic has to say about "A Midsummer Night's Rave": "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark California. If this were a party, the crowd would clear out early because it's a bust - 1.5"

Dylan sure has got himself quite the team.
