Star Wars Beam Weapon and the WTC Bathtub

Anyway, here's a picture of me an my old 356, before the fire. This was taken after a day of oil changing, valve lash setting, and sparkplug replacement:

That's you with your Porsche?

Who's the guy standing next to the car?

And is he wearing socks with sandals?

Uh, yeah. No rubble to see here:

or here:

Of course it was just the DUST from WTC1 and 2 that did this:

Just look at the tiny dust particles in this photo:

I challenge you to find a single piece of rubble in this photo series:

This one's great. Look at how GIANT these people look compared to the infintesimally small fragments of building under their feet:

No fragments around this burned truck!

You actually believe THIS could cause cars on the ground to somehow burn?
http://www.artsforge.com/wordforge/wtc/explosion.jpg

WAIT. I almost see a bit of rubble here:

Oops, my bad. Never mind. Must have been dust on the lens.

Pulverized concrete dust pile:

What joker put a fog machine here:

Burning and falling WTC's could have done this, but certainly could not have burned cars:

You will be receiving "Gravy's Seal of Approval of Your Extreme Pissedoffedness at Lying A-holes" certificate in the mail. Thank you, cloudships.

Like all the "truth" scholarly shaite, it will go no where, never get peer reviewed and/or published...why...because it is crap science, with no foundation, and flies in the face of all logic.

Why the cars half-burned out, and the firetrucks too? Well do we assume that when the building came down it had to engulf every single cm in tonnes of debris. It isnt like the a blanket of concrete and steel came down and landed on top of every single inch of open space below it...

Why do I even address this nonsense anymore

Sweet. Who's the cutie behind the wheel?

That's my little brother, who was about seven years old at the time. I knew I should have said so when I first posted. He was a very cute little kid at the time, and his fiancee thinks he's pretty cute now.

Anyway, I was thinking about it some more and I should have mentioned the lessons learned when my car caught fire. At first, I saw flames in my rearview mirror (the 356 has the engine in the back) and I was sure the car was about to explode. I jumped out of the car and ran away, then turned around to watch as my car was burning. The fuel tank is in the front and the fire was in the back, so I figured the car really wasn't going to explode. So I ran back to the car, reached under the dashboard, and turned off the fuel cock (insert joke here). For whatever reason, the old Porsche's had a valve that shut off the flow of gasoline to the engine and I thought this would starve the fire of fuel. Then I went to the back of the car and tried to open the deck lid (equivalent of a trunk). I noticed paint was bubbling off the car so I thought it would be a good idea to use the towel that I always kept in the car (thanks to Douglas Adams for the hint). I got the lid open and put out the fire with the extinguisher provided by the stranger.

The point of my long story is that cars don't catch on fire and explode like you see on TV. In fact, years later I was in a parking lot at work and a woman's Audi had caught fire when she tried to start it. I didn't think it was going to blow up so I ran to my car (the same 356), grabbed the extinguisher, and put out the fire for her. I've seen this kind of fire twice so it is possible that similar fires happened in New York that day. All it takes is a gasoline leak and an ignition source, and your car will be half-charred at the very least.

Yes. No rubble, yet toasted cars. Cars half toasted, half pristine. Spontaneoulsy exploding car engines (not gas tanks). Firetruck burned out and windows broken but otherwise undamaged.

Yes, very hard for me to understand, do take a try a explaining how a flaming building falls and accomplishes this stuff.

So why don't you take a shot at explaining how any of your ideas accomplishes any of this stuff? You demand detailed explanations from us, yet your pet theories aren't up to the tasks you set us.

So, how about it? How can a "Star Wars Death Ray" set half a car on fire whilst "disintegrating" all the concrete in the building?

That's you with your Porsche?

That's me alright, 22 years and 45 pounds ago.

Who's the guy standing next to the car?

Me.

And is he wearing socks with sandals?

Yes! I think I was done for the day and my mom made me go back outside and stand next to the car for a picture. Instead of putting on my shoes, damp from washing the car, I put on some sandals that were lying around. I know the socks/sandals are bad but my brown 70's Levi's cords are much worse.

Its not the size of the boat, but the motion of the ocean...

Oh, wait, wrong thread.
Well, to be honest, that laser is not exactly what you would call portable. The laser cavity is about 35 feet long and is connected to a 40 ft diameter vacuum sphere and requires a dedicated electrical sub-station to power it.

I was just showing off one of the cool toys at work. :D

OK, now I'm jealous.

Hey... where were you on 9/11. I mean if you have access to a laser like that, it could have been all your doing!!

It sounds like it could easily be fitted into any Constitution-class Starfleet vessel.

You mean cars don't explode and burst into flames in midair when they go over a cliff????

Say it ain't so!

I stopped reading the Star Wars Beam Weapon drivel after the first section that claims there was no damage to the "bathtub".

Funny, they spent an awful lot of time and money repairing it.

http://www.pbs.org/americarebuilds/engineering/engineering_wall_01.html

<snip>We then began installing the first level of tieback anchors at about 15-fot inside the bathtub, replacing the ones that had been originally cut and sealed. Ultimately we put in more than 980 anchors around the perimeter, going down tier by tier. Below grade conditions at the site dictated that we start on the south end of Liberty Street near the giant hole caused by the collapse of the South Tower's façade.

<snip>the impact of the east façade of Tower 2, and the collapse of floors below grade, had crushed about 25 feet of the top of the wall slurry wall. Later, when it was removed, we saw that the bathtub wall had moved approximately four and a half feet into the site. So, we secured the wall with temporary anchors, constructed a new wall on the inside, and then connected those anchors to a new liner wall.

Hey! EVERYTHING explodes when it crashes.

I seen it on the Simpsons

:crowded:

Obviously the cloaking devices are already operational as the towers are still standing...I bet you can't see them anymore, can you...

They note that the Kingdome demolition created a 2.3 richter earthquake, and point out that WTC had many times the PE, and should have caused a much larger earthquake than the 2.3, and 2.1 quakes that were actually measured.
wow, the kingdome and a tower, i dont think you could pick 2 more different kinds of structure if you tried

The foundation of the WTC (the "bathtub") was not damaged.
the "bathtub" is composed of the slurry wall around the perimeter of the WTC complex, it was damaged

the "foundation" of the bathtub was natural bedrock, it would be very odd if this WAS damaged
