See, that's what you just don't get Rob. I don't give a hoot what your real name is. What I care about is the veracity of your claims.

You posted a picture of a man in a pilot uniform. Now, for all I knew, it could have been some random pic found via Google image search. So, I search for more info on the photobucket album. By seeing other places it had been referenced I could at least establish that it wasn't just a random album that had been chosen (though nothing says that the pic wasn't just randomly added to the album).

I challenged factual information you posted concerning Independence Air because you make claim to being a pilot and use your claimed profession to back further claims on the interpretation of FDR data and other items. Establishing your credibility as a pilot may, or may not, necessitate knowing your name IRL.

You see, this isn't a game. You are making very serious accusations about a lot of people that, if true, would make Watergate look like Frmr. President Clinton's indiscretion; and, if false, disrespect a lot of people and amount to serious libel and slander.

Step back from the keyboard and ponder on that for a while.

I agree. I try to minimize them, however, as I am dealing with peoples health.

As for my spelling, it never has been that great, but most of the time it is the result of quick typing and posting. You should see my handwriting...lol

A couple of points:

1. If this be JDX, right now he is violation of so many different rules here that at the minimum he'll be suspended if not outright banned for language and admitted multiple use of an account. I imagine the mods may well be discussing it now (I know they got one notification from me when JDX? was still weedwacker) and our conduct may mean as much as his.

2. If this be JDX, I hold you in no great esteem, as you banned me for much more trivial offenses at LC than you/weedwacker have committed here. That said, if you can pull it together and post in a rational and mature manner, which, from several posts I note that you can do), I for one am willing to do the same and jump on any JREF'er that doesnt' (Oliver, BEHAVE!! :cool: ;) :p )

3. I have met fowlsound in person, along with numerous other JREF'ers and can confirm that his story on surviving cancer is true. I would suggest you read the links he provided and develop an appreciation for him as an individual (as all of us who have come to know him have), even if you profoundly disagree with him on 9-11.

4. You have no love for Russell Pickering and have at times accused him of being an "agent" for the JREF (NOTE: This may have been others, if so I apologize for the mis-characterization). That is your right and privlege. But if there is a level of respect for Russ (who is still not a member here and never has been), it is because he writes logically, coherently, and butresses his arguments with evidence that in many cases he has gathered himself. And he has proven willing to change his mind when the preponderance of evidence is shown. You may profoundly distrust the man; I would commend to you his techniques.

5. While a few of the posters here have bordered on rude (considering your treatment of many of us at the LC Forums, this should not surprise you), your best option is to post exactly what you want to discuss and direct the conversation away from you and onto the particualr topic. For example, the altimeter and if the aircraft could have been low enough to hit the light poles. You have stated no...Others here have rebutted your arguments, and it would be profitable for you to argue those rebuttals--perhaps a synthesis is possible.

Alas, I suspect your stay here will be short-lived, due to your numerous violations of the Rules. Sause for the goose, JDX; what goes around...

Hi weedwacker,

If you are going to engage with people on a skeptic's forum, you should familiarise yourself with skepticism (or critical thinking), because otherwise I think you are ultimately going to be frustrated with the responses you receive.

You see, what you are witnessing is not denial, at least not in the way you mean it (as a bad thing).

A skeptic will take the default position to not believe a claim without sufficient evidence to back it up. And that evidence must stand up to the closest scrutiny.

Unfortunately for those making claims, that means they are held up to a more rigorous standard of questioning than they might get elsewhere from non-skeptics.

I see that you are trying to provide evidence for your claims. Whether or not the members of this forum find it compelling, watertight evidence or not is something you will have to deal with if you want to convince people here, but I am glad you are making the effort.

But please do not reduce the efforts of those who seek hard evidence for your claims as 'in denial'. You do them a disservice, and worse, you discredit your own position.

The 9/11 conspiracy theories, if true, are world-shatteringly big. And their impact, if proven, would be such that it is absolutely paramount that there can be no doubt whatsoever. Therefore, the highest, most rigorous level of evidence must be provided. The skeptic's mantra is this:

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

If you keep this in mind, you will see why your claims get the replies they do, and hopefully you will be more sympathetic to the position of those who realise that for 'the truth', whatever it is, to out, real evidence must come first, second, and third.

OK, I just wanted to say all that, as well as 'welcome to the forum'.

I hope you stick around. If you are prepared to listen, there are some very valuable learning resources here, not just about 9/11 but critical thinking in general.

I dont care if i get banned by people who i dont respect (although i am starting to gain respect for a few of you).

Many of you use proxies to be around people you dont respect. I will never do that...

And i'll leave it at that...

Well I for one am done, gonna just watch for a while and see how this all plays out. If you get suspended or temporarily banned Rob, but feel there is something to be gained by coming here and debating, than I shall see you on your return. If you are allowed to remain, I would suggest a change in Username, and be prepared to back up your claims with hard evidence...and be prepared for some hard debating.

But I must say this: why is the vulgar, obscene sexual slur he directed at a female member of this forum being allowed to remain? It's been reported, I believe. OK, so some don't want him banned; I agree with that. But why leave such a clearly offensive post visible?

Absolutely agreed that the vulgar, obscene, sexual slur should be removed.

I take no position on whether he should be banned or not as it is up to the admins, and because I just 10 seconds ago wrote that I would refrain temporarily from voicing my opinions about doe/wacker(and probably etal.)
