God will proove himself once you believe in him. I know this through my own revelation of him and his word being true. It's more than a feeling it is an undeniable truth. God is who he says he is, he can do what he says he can do, I am who God says I am, and I can do all things through Christ!

Oddly enough, exactly the same principle applies to the IPU. Why do you persist in denying the Invisible Pink Unicorn's existence? Have pasta and meatballs completely turned your face from the IPU's rose-tinted love?

Kathy, don't you see what a cop-out you're spouting up there? "If you believe, then you'll believe." Really, now. Doesn't take a rocket surgeon or a brain scientist to see how completely bogus that is.

So God tied his own hands, limited his own mercy, decided there was only one way to get into heaven? Why would he do that? And why can't he change his mind now?

How can an all-powerful being "try" anything? Either he does something or he chooses not to.

And what do you mean by "it was all decided"? Was it not God who decided the rules of the game? Does he answer to more powerful uber-gods? And if it was god, I ask again why would he tie his own hands like that? You almost make it sound like human salvation is some kind of cosmic video game, and Jehovah deliberately gave himself a handicap to make it more challenging.

Could be. Anything's possible if you have faith, right? But you know what would be really awesome? If Kathy divided the sushi. I mean, the rice is sorta like bread, right? That would be a great sign as far as I'm concerned. I'd sell my soul for good Unagi (barbecued eel)! Oh, and some Nigiri (squid) or Tako (octopus). And maybe a side of sweet potato Tempura, that's always delish. And some sunomono...

Right, and if you believe in Scientology then Scientology will prove itself to you. This is a very well understood phenomenon and works with any occult, supernatural or paranormal belief. The more obedient and focused you are in any belief the more real it seems to you. Throw in confirmation bias and religion is ripe for true believers.

Exactly, all religions have true believers who know that their religion and their God is/are true. Your words would have some validity if they were unique to your beliefs. There not.

Kathy, I'm personally fine with religion so long as it isn't fanatical or that it encourages group think. I don't know you and I have no way to judge you as a person. I suspect that you are someone who genuinely cares about other people and I doubt that you would harm anyone.

That said, I think your religious fever is very dangerous.
1.) You are robotic in your responses.
2.) You exhibit no individuality.
3.) You exhibit no skepticism.
4.) You exhibit no critical thinking.
5.) Like any true believer you have given yourself over to a belief.

Beliefs can be parasites that to a large degree control the thoughts and feelings of their host.

Why are you so concerned with what is going to happen? Once you enter eternity, you'll be beyond caring. Is this why our world is currently deteriorating faster than it should be? That the faithful are more concerned with their harps and halos and platoon of virgins, than with our polluted atmosphere, starving brethren, and terminally ill? This is why I find the "faithful" so infuriating. You've got something "better" to look forward to, so you disregard what you HAVE here and now, and your responsibilities to your home. (sigh) Cover the world and subdue it, huh? How's that working out for you? I suspect at least part of this is because all of Kathy's posts (that I've seen) address religious issues to the exclusion of all else. Kathy, why not take part in some of the non-religious discussions on other parts of the forum? Surely you have interests other than religion, yes? I feel that you'd come off as less one-dimensional if we engaged in conversation on topics where you and we haev some common ground.

Kathy doesn't think for herself. Her only answer to questions is to post links to fringe books that she is "reading". Not books she's read, but that she is "reading". Seems she never finishes them :boggled: She also regurgitates the crap that she hears from other people, but since she doesn't understand what it means, she can't put her own thoughts into it. She is no different that the people of Jonestown: An unthinking sheep.
