I like to get a professional massage every once in awhile. My usual massage therapist moved out of the area so I'm looking in the phone book for a new one and spot an ad with the usual criteriia listed.....along with "canine & feline massage".
My first thought was woo....but I suppose massage for a cat/dog could help with orthopedic issues as with a human and it would be relaxing. I know my dog would NOT mind getting petted for 30 minutes straight at all.
I guess my question is...how prevalent is this? Genuine benefits for the animal or just another way for people to spoil their pampered pets. (I love my dogs--but no way they're getting a $55/hr massage.)
