I didn't answer because I don't think it would have collapsed.
There's your problem.
I already did and it's right here. Didn't say anything about collapsing.

This is where you are an idiot. You get your information solely from conspiracy websites without seeing what actually took place.
The Meridian fire was a dang near thing. The fire nearly resulted in a collapse, and the only reason that the fire did not cause collapse is that the fire was fought (unlike WTC7) and the sprinkler system reactivated. The PFD abandoned the firefighting effort since there were indications that the building was going to collapse.
Neverthless, the Meridian fire was as close to collapse by fire as we've come in the USA. Once the fire was out, the building was wrapped in a hideous netting to prevent not only falling objects, but in the event that the building would actually collapse anyway.
Ask your conspiracy websites where the Meridian Building is today. Go on, ask them. Never mind, I'll tell you.
Insurance companies hoped to repair the Meridian. After much legal wrangling a structural engineer was sent in to inspect the building. He basicly wrote the report that in short said: "No freaking way". The building was condemned (despite legal wrangling by the insurance company that result in them being fined). The engineer basicly stated that he was afraid to even be in the building. That's how close it came to collapsing. That is with 11 hours of firefighting. That is with the firefighting system intact (such as it was in 1991), that is without damage to the structure. Advantages that WTC7 never had.
These are details you won't find on your conspiracy websites. Because all they say is 'Still standing, hah!', never mind that the Merdian had to be brought down with an external crane as tall as the building itself designed to take parts off the top like you were unbuilding a house of cards. But its 'still standing' is the lie of ommission you hear from the WTC crowd.
Plus, 9th to 19th floor of a wtc tower burned for 3 hours and the temperture reached at 700 degrees C in 1975 and yet it didn't collapse.
That fire was fought, that fire faced an intact fire prevention system. If that fire was in one of the main towers, they faced thicker structural systems since they were on lower floors. These are advantages the building had in its defense. Ones it did not have on 9/11.
There was no visible flaming debris falling from the towers so what ya talking about?
You can see through all that debris? How interesting. Most of us couldn't. But that fire was still burning when the tower collapsed. Do you think fire just goes away becuase the towers fall?
