Funny. Russia is already importing Diesel to keep their military running, since all the strikes on refineries. And it's buying it above market prices. So, exactly where are they going to get that Diesel to satisfy that deal? They'd effectively subsidise getting oil from refineries in India to the US, including the extra transport cost of getting it to Russia first.

'Time for Ukraine to get new president,' says Trump after Zelensky condemns diesel deal.

Speaking as he left the White House on Saturday, Trump said the Ukrainian president "wants to make problems for the world" by continuing to authorise attacks on Russian refineries.

"He'd better damn well stop," Trump said before suggesting Ukraine should "get a new leader who can make a deal"...

"We said, 'you can do whatever you want to Russia, don't hit the refineries', because that's a world problem that's caused," he said.

"He could have made many deals and for some reason, he never does."

EU hits russia with new sanctions.

The European Union is preparing to sanction 1,646 individuals and organizations linked primarily to Russia’s military-industrial complex and the organization of Russian elections in occupied Ukrainian territories.

The move would represent the largest single expansion of the EU’s sanctions lists since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. It would add more than half the number of individuals and entities currently listed under restrictions addressing violations of Ukraine’s territorial integrity.

I wondered if i was missing something. He said he had done some marvellous deal with Putin, where Russia would sell diesel onto the world market and that would reduce the price for American consumers. But Russia already does that. And the amount they've allegedly promised to export is actually less than they presently do, and that's already down 80+ percent on how much they used to export before they FAFO'd with Ukraine.
The Art of the Deal…
