Same way as any YouTube content creator, or any other news source with their own YouTube channel - CNN, ABC, Fox News, MSNBC, etc - advertising revenue.

If you are one of these people who still labours under the misapprehension that the BBC is entirely paid for by the license fee, then I have to tell you that you are wrong. While its core public UK television and radio services are financed by the license fee, its international and commercial subsidiaries generate advertising revenue... lots of it.

If I'm understanding this correctly (and I might not be, a lot of quotes don't show up for me) but if BBC uses a business model based off of clicks and likes it's a problem; however, Tim Poole should be believed because he...also makes money off of likes and clicks?

I won't even try to address the weapons grade level of dumbassery that is "I know Tim Pool lies all the time but I'm going to openly ignore his entire past and believe the anecdotal ◊◊◊◊ he spews because...reasons?" Perhaps I'm missing something there.

I think the BBC has had a fall in standards but the claims of Tim Pool are laughably stupid.

They don't watch broadcast TV, nothing specific to BBC TV. Watching live TV is increasingly just older people. Younger viewers are watching stuff on demand from streaming services and on YouTube. I may be mistaken but i think the idea is that the BBC content on YouTube won't contain adverts in the UK.

Then I remembered I turn 40 next year and probably don't count as young anymore.

Not as bad as the nuclear weapons grade dumbassery of failing to understand that Pool claimed this happened in 2014, he has repeated the claim numerous times since then, and in 12 years, no-one involved in Fusion TV or the ABC at that time, least of all the network's president who confirmed they would intentionally kill a true and important news story if it upset their target demographic, ever debunked or even challenged the claim.

Failure to challenge any claim is an acknowledgement of its validity.

And how does this relate to the BBC? Because they have been caught lying about news stories to placate their left-wing, pro-Arab, anti-Israel, anti-Semitic audience. This includes broadcasting lies in their Arab Language Services hoping that English speakers would never catch them at it. They have a panel/desk specially created to kill press stories that might upset trans people. They pander to their audience - they are no longer truth-tellers, their left wing bias is palpable. The only time they ever broadcast news stories that are uncomfortable for the left are when those stories are so important, they cannot ignore them.

The BBC was once the world-wide gold standard for fair, balanced news, the one that my generation relied on for truth and accuracy. Sadly, those days are long gone. The BBC now is just another broadcaster, an also-ran, and the propaganda arm of the left.
