The design of that dumb triumphal arch still bugs me. Firstly because its location makes it the entrance to a cemetery, so triumph is hardly appropriate, secondly because such arches are intended for passing through, not around, but it's in the middle of a roundabout and raised up on a plinth with multiple steps up to it, preventing any funeral parade from ever driving under it, and thirdly because the personification of Liberty does not have wings. When the hell did she grow wings? Well of course it was when the orange monster decided the golden fairy on the top needs to be gold and have great big wings. And be gold. And big. And winged. Gold-winged, okay?

But now Trump continues his descent into second childhood by declaring it'll also be full of drones and snipers and super cool stuff like that.

I hold that in the end of construction, his huge statue will end up on top - in gold

I think the critical feature in the planning of this arch is that it had to be designed to be wide enough that Trump could fit through it. That's why it's so big. He hasn't visited St Louis because he knows it would result in an embarrassing photo, and comparisons to Winnie the Pooh.

So who was the "military consultant" who suggested this idea to Donny? Because not even Heggie nuts-deep on a Saturday drink-tank bender would be so dim.

He's too humble to name the consultant, since it was of course Trump himself; he knows more about war than the generals do, after all.
