And you know this, how? I'm not aware of him ever having been diagnosed as schizophrenic at any point. His own family members have said that he was not diagnosed with any mental illness, and that he was never given or recommended any therapy or medication.

This is where I wonder if you're deliberately misrepresenting what I wrote, or if your reading comprehension is just that lacking. Did you not read my comments about him having written most of the songs on The Piper at the Gates of Dawn? Did you not read my account of his band mates missing their "charming, witty, creative mad genius"?
You can't just ignore the fact of his excessive LSD use. There are numerous accounts by people remarking about his rapid personality change. There are reports of his standing about on stage, strumming a single chord, or not playing at all, while staring off into space. Stories about him not knowing where he was, forgetting to bring his gear.
Pink Floyd was one of my earliest musical obsessions, going back some forty three yeas ago. As a kid, the closest I ever came to having a nickname was in the early '80s when my friend José called me "Floyd" in reference to my affinity for the band. But because he was the only one who did so, it never stuck. Some of the first songs I ever learned to play were Pink Floyd songs. I know your knee-jerk reaction is to establish that anyone who disagrees with you about anything is inferior to yourself in knowledge, but I don't need to reference Wikipedia to have a conversation about Pink Floyd.
How so? By not wanting to continue putting up with his drug abuse and the effect it was having on their writing, recording and performances? Were they treating him appallingly by making sure he continued to receive the royalty payments that supported him for the rest of his life?
Opinions are subjective.

It would have been like trying to keep Brian Wilson on with the Beach Boys. There came a point where the band had to make a choice, and they did. I treat Pink Floyd as two bands. Syd left his mark, when he was there it was his band. After he was out, well, the rest is history. And Waters is a wiener head. Always was.
And as bad as Brian Wilson was, there was still a nugget of genius in there. He couldn't tour, but he could semi-function as a writer. Syd had nothing, from what I understand. He was well and truly fried.

That's a bit mean, but it underlines the sad reality that the band made the right call.

The director of “9/11 Trillions: Follow The Money,” James Corbett; the author of “Loose Change,” Jason Bermas; the author of “The Call for Help : 911 the Other Side,” and 39 others are schedule to speak.
Corbett’s 2015 documentary claims that a spike in “put options” on United and American Airlines leading up to 9/11 proves that certain traders had prior knowledge of and profited from the attacks. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission began investigating the matter on September 12, 2001 and concluded there was no evidence that anyone who had advanced knowledge on the attacks traded on the basis of that information.
Another speaker, James Li, has recently branched out of 9/11 theories. His most recent documentaries on YouTube are titled, “They Aren’t Building AI Data Centers (It’s Way Worse),” “TPUSA 2.0: Why Charlie Kirk Had to Die (Allegedly),” and “Is Jared Kushner Mossad?”
The goals listed on the International Center for 9/11 Justice’s website include “organizing, preserving, and presenting the best empirical 9/11 research” and “raising mass public awareness and sparking broad-based demand for justice for the millions of people affected by 9/11 and its aftermath.”
