Even roll-over-and-play-dead James Carville condemns Hakeem Jeffries' meeting with Jared Kushner! HAKEEM JEFFRIES IS F*CKED (Secular Talk on YouTube, Aug 26, 2026 – 24:47 min.)
8:13–> Reading press reports about meeting between friend of mine, guy like, uh, going to be Speaker of the House come next January, Hakim Jeffries and Jared Cushner. Let me let me try to explain something and let me, and Hakim, you're a smart guy. You know your caucus, but let me explain something here very very clear. You have Democrats that have different position on Medicare for all, whether that's a good idea. You have Democrats that have different positions on effective policing and there's a whole variety of subjects of which there are some disagreements within the Democratic party. On one thing, on one thing, there is no disagreement. There's unanimity. And it is simply this. In the opinion of every Democrat in the United States, progressive, moderate, middle road, left [ __ ] I don't know, whatever you want, we believe one thing above all: These people are a pack of felons and traitors, and you do not meet with them. You do not meet with them.
There's only one thing you can do with people that you genuinely believe deep inside of every fabric of your body are a pack of thieves in a pack of traitors. That's what we believe. And we going to set out to prove that and said you meet with Jared Kushner. We need to drag his ass before committee and find out what backdoor dealing wh house [ __ ] he's got going on with Steve Whit and everybody else. We're not going to be nice to you. We don't like you. None of you.
Now, if if there comes a certain time where it have to keep the government open and you got to, Yes. If you're forced by that, okay, you got to meet with them and cut a deal.
Not before. [ __ ] these people.
If you sitting there saying I'm taking a meeting with them and people out there knocking on doors, can't sleep at night, standing up in angx worrying about what the hell is going to happen to the country for [ __ ] trillion dollars in debt in an idiotic wall. We're getting the [ __ ] kicked out of us. They have no idea what they doing. They're making every backdoor [ __ ] deal they can. They want to meet with them. Don't meet with them. Don't have anything to do with them. say any any business we have is going to be conducted with you under oath, subject to aggressive discovery.
So, you know, y'all can argue with me and you can say, "Well, I I'm a Bernie bro. I'm a this, I'm a that hero like establishment or that [ __ ] people talking institutional establishment." One thing that I know and you know, these are a pack of crooks and they're a pack of people that don't give a [ __ ] about the United States of America. And we don't want to [ __ ] with them unless we absolutely have to. No more meetings. No more [ __ ] All right?
Throw your right hand in there. Put your left hand on the good book or whatever you [ __ ] you put it on and subject yourself to perjury. That's all I'm interested in. That's all Democrats are interested in of every kind of strike. So, let's cut the [ __ ] out and treat these people exactly what they are and for what they are.

AIPAC Dems’ Dogpile on Hasan Piker is the Most Laughably Performative Stunt EVER (The Humanist Report on YouTube, Aug 27, 2026 – 18:45 min.)
AIPAC-backed Democrats are attacking Hasan Piker again in another coordinated campaign, but this latest manufactured controversy may take the cake for being the most laughably performative act of political theater of all time. The Democrats in question (who support genocide) are accusing Hasan (who opposes genocide) of inciting hate during a stream where he was talking about how inciting hatred is bad. Yes, you read that correctly. They’re cynically twisting his words to pretend like he’s saying the exact opposite of what he’s actually saying. They could be criticizing Trump, but instead, they’re obsessing about a Twitch streamer to signal to their base that opposition to Israel’s genocide won’t be tolerated. In this video we’ll talk about this outrageous defamation campaign and how gross it is that these genocide-supporting clowns are co-opting social justice language to defend atrocities.
Hasan Piker actually warns against conflating anti-Zionism with antisemitism, and he condemns the latter.
As Mike Figueredo explains:
5:40–> [Hasan Piker's] comments aren't just not controversial. I actually think that it's antisemitic for these Democrats to condemn what he said because by cynically conflating anti-Zionism with antisemitism to run cover for a genocidal government, they're doing the thing that he's warning against. They're the ones inadvertently inciting hate against Jewish people by linking them to the Israeli government as if they're one and the same when that couldn't be further from the truth. Judaism is a religion that is thousands of years old. Whereas Zionism is a fascist ideology just over a hundred years old that's trying to hijack an entire religion to justify a racist ethno-state. And conflating Zionism with antisemitism doesn't even make sense given how there are actually more Christian Zionists than there are Jewish Zionists.
And it's bizarre to single out Hasan Piker for his comments when Democratic darling Ezra Klein made the same exact point in an April op-ed for the New York Times. He argued: "Anti-Zionism is rising as a response to what Israel is doing. It will simply not be possible to treat it as a marginal viewpoint that can be shamed or shunned into invisibility. Yes, antisemitism often cloaks itself in anti-Zionism. So don't do the antisemites' work for them. If you keep telling people that if they oppose the Jewish state that they must hate the Jewish people, eventually, they will believe you."
No condemnations from Democrats for that statement from Ezra Klein, by the way.
It makes sense in this context for Hakeem Jeffries to collaborate with Jared Kushner and MAGA. Right-wing Democrats don't want universal health care and they do want AIPAC money.

5.37–> Unlike establishment candidates, progressives are actually talking about the real issues that working families
are dealing with. And more importantly, they are providing real solutions, which is what Americans want.
The American people are saying, "Yeah, we get it. Trump is a disaster. That's fine. You can criticize them all you want. That's not going to provide healthcare to me. It's not going to raise my wages. What do you have to offer?"
And progressives are stepping up to the plate and providing real solutions. I mean, in terms of income and wealth inequality, what progressives are saying when the people on top, the billionaire class, has never ever had it so good, we need to impose a wealth tax on billionaires that will raise enormous amounts of revenue that can improve life for working families throughout this country.
Progressives are saying that we need to raise the minimum wage to a living wage, at least 20 bucks an hour, that we need to make it easier for workers to join unions so they can negotiate uh decent wages and benefits and working conditions.
Progressives are saying that the current campaign finance system is broken and corrupt. And yeah, of course, we got to get rid of Citizens United. Everyone says that. But what progressives are saying, we need to get super PACs out of Democratic primaries. Billionaires and their super PACs should not be able to buy primary victories.
So, progressives are talking about that, and people are catching on, which is why despite the fact that people like Angie Nixon were outspent 16 to 1, she won the election.
Progressives also understand that the current health care system is broken and that we need a new system and that we have to understand like every other major country on earth.
It goes without saying that progressive candidates also want to resist anthropogenic global warming – unlike Republicans, who do their utmost to promote it. Bernie Sanders points that out as well.

How to Get Obscenely Rich while losing to Trump, The Democrats' Failures Explained (The Real News Network and The Lever on YouTube, Aug 26, 2026 – 38:14 min.)
David Sirota joins Taya Graham and Stephen Janis to expose the enormous financial incentives shaping Democratic politics and why political consultants can accumulate “generational wealth” even when their candidates lose.
Sirota explains how consultants profit from massive television-ad purchases, how billionaire-funded super PACs influence the candidates and policies voters are offered, and how the language of “moderation” and “electability” is used to undermine progressive and populist challengers. We examine the consequences of legalized political corruption: Washington’s silence on America’s healthcare crisis, the widening gulf between voters and their representatives, and the 50-year campaign to transform elections into auctions while concentrating power in the presidency.
David Sirota is the founder of the investigative news organization The Lever, a former speechwriter for Bernie Sanders, an Oscar-nominated co-creator of the story for the movie Don’t Look Up, and the producer of the podcast series Master Plan.
Why corporate Democrats don't mind losing elections to MAGA:
9:50–> Electability is sort of this manufactured idea that that anything that strays too far from the norm uh inside of where politics and democratic politics specifically is can't actually end up winning a general election. And I think that that's howthis sort of frame is laundered into the conversation. So then it becomes that DSA candidates or economic populist candidates, they have an ... they supposedly have an electability problem. Oh, it's not necessarily that they may be wrong on specific issues. It's that even if they are right, if Democratic voters vote for them, those candidates can't win general elections.
And what I see happening is that the corporate Democratic faction is sort of weaponizing this argument and also playing a role in sort of wish-casting that idea into reality that you see in various races where when populist candidates win the nomination for a general election that the corporate faction is still attacking and criticizing them in the general election even though they are now the candidate going up against the MAGA Republicans. And I think what that speaks to is that the corporate faction of the Democratic Party in specific here is willing to potentially lose general elections to MAGA and Republicans if that is the cost of maintaining the corporate factions power inside the Democratic Party.

Trans people are 1% of the population.
Muslims are 1% of the population.
Undocumented people are 1% of the population.
We are focused on the wrong 1 percent! [cheering]
Trans people aren't taking away our healthcare.
Muslims aren't defunding our schools.
Immigrants aren't cutting taxes for themselves and their rich friends.
It's the billionaires and their puppet politicians.
The culture wars are a smoke screen.
So many of the divisions in this state and in this country are manufactured by billionaires who want us fighting each other instead of fighting them.
They want us, they want us looking left and right at our neighbors instead of looking up at them.
The biggest divide in our politics is not left versus right.
It's top versus bottom.
The video also has a great quotable sound-bite from Abdul El-Sayed.
Also a quote from Jen Psaki (MS NOW), which is a little longer.

It's hilarious to see MAGA warn establishment Democrats against DSA candidates! They now appear to have become MAGA allies instead of 'Dumocrats':
MAGA Rages After Democratic Socialists Become Successful! (U.S. Democratic Socialists on YouTube, Sep 3, 2026 – 11:27 min.)
USDS Host Lex Voytek breaks down Fox News losing their minds over the fact that Democratic Socialists don't live in poverty!
0:22–>
– [Gustavo] Gordillo has come under fire for not previously disclosing that he lives in a $ 1.5 million home in Brooklyn and that he is no longer a union electrician. Lex Voytek: Oh no, they're doing a champagne socialist bid again. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation where if you claim to be a socialist but have any sort of means, then you must be a hypocritical grifter. Or if you're a working-class person that doesn't have means but is also promoting socialism, then you must just be jealous of the wealthy and you're promoting a system that has no upward mobility. In fact, at worst, you might be trying to steal everybody's wealth so that everybody around you can be poor. Fox host: It can't be what they're about, Dan. They're not simply looking out for the working class and the working man. We have seen this over and over. These are the entitled, educated, downwardly mobile, grew-up-rich kids of America who are pioneering the DSA. Dan Bongino: So if you're a Democrat out there, a prominent Democrat, elected Democrat, a party leader or an activist, Hasan Piker and his candidates are using your brand and your movement, it's not good enough to say, "Well, listen. We're a big-tent party and we have a lot of different ideas." Yeah. One of them includes celebrating the murder of a prominent political activist on the right. Like that's kind of a big deal. Like the quality or lack of of the idea matters under that brand. So that's just the evil component of it. The second subset which you addressed is this other guy who lives in a $ 1.5 million home. These are just straight up frauds. These are the Bernie Sanders of the worlds, the millionaires, okay? These people are fake, phony. Lex Voytek: Oh, you didn't think we were going to get through this video without talking about Hasan of course, because of course he's another one of these socialists that they claim are frauds.
James Talarico PACKS HOUSE in Deep-Red Texas, Vows to Fight Corruption (The Financial Express on YouTube, Sep 1, 2026 – 15:48 min.)
Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico drew a packed crowd at a campaign event in Lockhart, Texas, as he took his message into one of America's most deeply Republican states. Speaking to supporters, Talarico described his campaign as a “people-powered” movement aimed at challenging what he called a broken and corrupt political system. He attacked Republican opponent Ken Paxton, accusing him of using public office for personal and political gain, and outlined an anti-corruption agenda including campaign finance reform, term limits and an end to gerrymandering. Talarico also urged Texans to reject divisive politics and unite across party lines ahead of the November 3 election. The packed venue highlights the Democratic candidate's effort to build support in deep-red Texas.
9:27–> We have an affordability crisis because we have a corruption crisis. We don't have a government of, by, and for the people. Things would be different if we did. We have a government of, by, and for the billionaires.
The system is working exactly as it was intended to work.
Everywhere I go across the state, people are drowning. Can't afford the basics. groceries, gas, utilities, prescription drugs, the things that we need to survive. I mean, people tell me it's no matter how hard they they work, no matter how much they save, those ends never seem to meet.
There is something broken in this country.
James Talarico EXPOSES Ken Paxton’s Record (Sep 3, 2026 – 18 min.)
“Ken Paxton has been selling us out for years and he's gotten away with it. They've all gotten away with it. But that ends this year in this state, in this race. If we the people can come together to defeat the most corrupt politician in America, we can come together to defeat this entire corrupt system.”
In spite of what I quoted in posts 787 and 791, I fear that James Talarico may be a BSer after all:
Democratic candidate for Senate James Talarico talks data centers, energy in Texas, oil and gas (CBS Texas on YouTube, Sep 5, 2026 – 12:40 min.)
Democratic candidate for Texas Senate James Talarico discusses his stance on data centers and energy, including oil and gas in the state. Ahead of the RNC Midterm Convention to be held in Dallas, he says he plans to focus on "the people of Texas and their needs" rather than on the nicknames and criticisms thrown at him.
4:56–> Interviewer: Back in 2021, you filed a bill, House Bill 2206, that called for by 2030 to limit statewide emissions to 50 below what the level was in 1990 and by 2050 to limit statewide emissions to 90% below what it was in 1990. Why was that an important bill for you to file? And wouldn't that have hurt the all-important energy oil and gas sector here in Texas? James Talarico: I support our oil and gas industry. I had family members who worked in the industry. I went to public schools here in Texas funded by the oil and gas industry. And what I'm opposing is greenhouse emissions. And there's ways that we can support our oil and gas industry while limiting those emissions. In fact, you know, Exxon Mobile has been a leader in carbon capture, ensuring that our oil and gas industry can continue to grow while capturing these harmful emissions so we can both grow our Texas energy industry and protect our planet. Often times in our politics, those two things are treated as an either/or choice. The fact is with modern technology, we can and must do both of those things at the same time. So, I'm against any leaders in Washington who are messing with our energy industry, whether it's oil and gas, or whether it's renewables. Texas is now number one in wind, we're number one in solar, and those are good paying jobs in our state. We don't need any leaders in Washington messing with our energy industry.
No, Talarico! You can't actually "do both of those things at the same time!." They are diametrically opposed to each other!
This is just as bad as Biden's We’re America. We can do both.
Does Talarico actually believe this? Has he bought into the fossil-fuel industry's (ExxonMobile's, in particular) greenwashing lie about 'carbon capture'?
Or is he just another Big Oil shill, deliberately lying to the voters the same way Biden and Harris did?
Talarico promotes at least the first four of the fossil-fuel industry's five major current lies:
How to identify five lies the oil industry is still telling (Center for Climate Integrity, April 22, 2024)
Lie #1: Oil companies are critical players — if not leaders — in the transition to renewable energy.
Lie #2: Big Oil is working to decrease climate pollution in order to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement and their own net zero emissions pledges.
Lie #3: Oil companies are leading the development of real solutions to the climate crisis, like “lower carbon” natural gas, biofuels, and carbon capture and storage.
Lie #4: Big Oil companies support policies to solve the climate crisis.
Lie #5: Individual consumers are personally responsible for causing — and solving — climate change.
Unfortunately, the interviewer doesn't ask him what those ways to 'do both' are. I doubt that his answer would be anything other than the lie about carbon capture and storage.

It makes me wonder if Talarico's own school was one of those "here in Texas funded by the oil and gas industry."
Later on in the interview, he says:
Unfortunately, the interviewer doesn't ask him what those ways to 'do both' are. I doubt that his answer would be anything other than the lie about carbon capture and storage.
I think he's trying to say that someone should run on the same vibes that got Mamdani elected, since those seem to be popular vibes right now.
Though he does seem a lot more focused on what than on who, criticizing campaign rhetoric and platforms, rather than opining whether so and so should run or not.
1) Read the title of this thread: Who should run for the Dems? It doesn't say anything about running for president. The OP does mention that Clooney should run for president, and so what?
2) In a country that is so prone to turning politics into cults of personality, it is no wonder that you want the discussion to be focussed on who rather than what – in particular when your current cult of personality worships a cult leader who is crumbling into paranoid-fueled dementia in a spectacle for the whole world to watch on a daily basis.
3) Since yours is a representative democracy and focussed much more than most on the apparent charisma of those personalities instead of on their politics, it is fairly obvious why it bothers you that I tend to focus more on the latter.
4) In the case of James Talarico, I focus mainly on what he actually says about his politics instead of on his way of presenting it, which is what you would no doubt prefer, i.e. does he come across as somebody electable that the donor class might consider betting on? However, what he's claiming about climate politics obviously sucks! He is contradicting himself when he repeatedly claims that:
There's ways that we (!) can support our (!) oil and gas industry while (!) limiting those emissions ... Exxon Mobile has been a leader in carbon capture, ensuring (!) that our oil and gas industry can continue to grow while (!) capturing these harmful emissions so we can both (!) grow our (!) Texas energy industry and protect our (!) planet. ... we can and must do both (!) of those things at the same time.
He is telling a blatant lie when he claims that Exxon Mobile has ensured that the fossil-fuel industry "can continue to grow while capturing these harmful emissions." It's not what is actually happening! Both of those things can't happen at the same time. They couldn't under Biden and they can't in Talarico's scenario.
Carbon capture and storage is a multi-billion dollar joke meant to greenwash the continued burning of fossil fuels and thus emission of CO2. 'We' can't actually do both! Carbon capture is utopian science fiction, not at all 'ensured' reality. The False Promise of Carbon Capture As a Climate Solution (Scientific American, Mar 1, 2024)
Talarico is telling his constituents that joke, and that's the satanic alternative to Ken Paxton that shemp and others bet on.
