Trump's promised ICE raids have begun

"Yeah, just plug us in wherever you see some tonks and we'll jump out," one agent can be heard saying in a video released in court.

"Tonk" is considered to be a derogatory term used by agents that denotes the sound an immigrant's head makes when struck by a baton or a flashlight.

This is the caliber of agents ICE is hiring; the hiring bar is so low it's no surprise that these incidents abound. It will only get worse.

Electric Shock Gloves are being used in Omaha schools.

The GLOVE, or Generated Low-Output Voltage Emitter, is already in use in some public schools. Twenty-nine of 34 school police officers in Omaha, Nebraska have trained to use the GLOVE, and twice in the past year, officers have used the devices to shock students.

Look, they are abusing school kids with these already, so what's the problem with abusing everyone else with the same device?
I've watched a lot of bodycam footage of people being arrested in airports, and I keep thinking, this insane banshee with zero emotional control and a tendency to respond to setbacks with violence... This was very recently some poor teacher's student.

So I have some empathy for those who feel the need to zap a modern high school student.

I'm more surprised that it's Omaha. What's so dangerous about Omaha high schools? It's weird.

You empathize with abusers. That is not surprising.
Bless your heart, thaiboxerken. Of course I don't empathize with the sociopaths who ◊◊◊◊ up air travel by acting the emotionally unregulated, rulebreaking fool.

I empathize with the customer service, public safety, and educational folks who have to deal with these fools.

Of course it's not surprising that you're on the side of the fools.

ICE abandons plans to turn Salt Lake City warehouse into a 10,000-bed deportee detention facility. The building will be sold. We did it!

I don't think you did anything. Apparently buying the warehouse was Kristi Noem's idea. New Homeland boss Markwayne Mullin just wanted to do something different. But congrats!

Because you were totally here and totally participating in the talks and court cases.
Ya know, the SLC facility isn't the only one Mullins decided to close.

ICE looking to sell Salt Lake City warehouse designated for detention center, report says

Besides Salt Lake City, the other locations where ICE is reportedly looking to unload its facilities are Romulus, Michigan, Social Circle, Georgia, Flowery Branch, Georgia, Hamburg, Pennsylvania, Tremont, Pennsylvania and Roxbury, New Jersey.

ICE didn't need that SLC facility. It already has agreements with Utah jails to house deportees before sending them to detention centers elsewhere.

Ya know...
In fact I do. I have boots-on-the-ground knowledge of the fight with the city and county. Can you explain why DHS continued to defend the lawsuit for two months after supposedly deciding to sell the property? I chose the Fox source so that MAGA types wouldn't complain. What Fox isn't reporting is that key state legislators who were planning to override city complaints by passing state laws allowing the center all lost their primaries. Mullins didn't actually take any concrete steps to close the facility until it was clear (1) he was going to lose in court, and (2) he lost state legislature support. Yes, we did it.

Don't let him rain on your parade. He makes Scrooge look like Mary Poppins.

My dude, were there court cases involved in the other facilities that ICE wants to close? Hello?

Weird how this is all happening at the same time: DHS quietly ends plan to convert Social Circle warehouse into ICE detention center

But if you want to play the superhero, go get'em tiger!

Irrelevant.

The question is whether "we did it." I've given you evidence that Mullins did not take any concrete action to abandon the facility until he lost legislative support and was sued by the city and county, forcing him to commit to the abandonment plans on paper in a court filing. Your flailing about what happened elsewhere has nothing to do with whether "we did it."

Oh, my dude, you're too much. ICE announces that it wants to unload a number of facilities and the pro-criminal alien crowd desperately wants credit. Like ICE has never found a count battle. Go get'em tiger!
