Right, his fiancee's being detained by ICE is something that happened to *him*. Not "us". Not "her". Him.

mixed feelings - it might make them use their guns less - and I can't wait for when they will inevitably wipe away the sweat in their face while the gloves are active.

Maybe in a normal world, but the people involved are already notorious for detaining the wrong people at the wrong time for the wrong reasons. Making that job easier doesn't solve the problem. I suspect that it will result in more violence and more wrongful injury and death. Right now, they use their guns too often, but still have some restraint from shooting people dead on the spot. Not so electric gloves, which can grab anyone, qualified immunity probably printed right on the backs, no consequence if they get a US citizen with a bad heart who dies on the spot. And anyway, the point is not primarily to kill, it is to hurt and instill fear and inconvenience. Electric gloves are another step toward default compliance with arbitrary power. Stay tuned for the justification for a bag over the head.

It hardy seems worth mentioning, but in a world where every wrong arrest, wrongful threat and wrongful death is met with the the cops lying about being run over or threatened or otherwise requiring defense, it should go without saying that it's pretty much a guarantee that most people grabbed with those gloves will be shocked on the grounds of non-compliance, even if they're unconscious in handcuffs

Unlike the taser where the object is not to cause pain but shock the muscles into paralysis, this device in intended to subdue by causing pain. What could go wrong with issuing devices intended to cause pain without leaving marks or scars?

An ICE agent POINTED A GUN at a U.S. citizen, through her car window, while threatening her, in Falls Church, Virginia.

And the excuse?

They claimed she “almost ran them over.”

Except… she had a dash cam recording the entire thing.

The agent tells her, “You aren’t funny.”

Then he threatens her… “Keep it up, I will arrest you.” While he has his gun aimed inches away from her.

She says, “I’m a legal citizen, for what?”

And they keep threatening her with arrest.

Then, the agent repeats the accusation that she tried to run them over.

So, she tells him, “Run you over when? I have dash cam recording. That’s a lie.”

And suddenly… they WALK AWAY

The people they are hiring are the ones who couldn't make it into the real police department. They're the ones who sublimate that desire for power by authority by becoming dictatorial security guards. This will only continue to get worse; nothing appears to be happening to raise the bar for becoming an ICE agent. Less, if anything.

Watching the video, I was shocked, shocked I tell you, to see the cowards were masked. The guy brandishing (for no reason) must have the smallest dick in the world.

In many countries use of an instrument designed to inflict pain would be called torture. No doubt it will help people comply with making confessions, providing the police with information, or just make them realise the consequences of not complying with police orders.
