I think Sayid has to keep his supporters in line, from what I have seen many of them have seem to despise anybody who is not as left wing as they are.
Hasan Piker on the outreach Sayed needs to do among the Democrats who supported Stevens:

Everyone being like, 'Abdul has a ◊◊◊◊-ton of work to do mending bridges', here's the ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ take nuke for you: You are all unbelievably Islamophobic pieces of ◊◊◊◊. You literally called the dude a ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ terrorist for months on end and called him a sexist, misogynist, terrorist, bad candidate, fake doctor when he has two ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ degrees. And now you're going to say sit there and be like, 'you really gotta come to me now.' What are you talking about? Do you wanna win or not? LOCK THE ◊◊◊◊ IN.

what can sayed do to control somebody like hasan piker? hasan sits in his bedroom all day ranting about politics to preteens on a computer, how do you get someone like that to stop saying crazy stuff?

They were playing this on the news all day yesterday and it was pretty harshly criticized even on the left. I don't see that kind of attitude affecting voter turnout or being held against El-Sayed at all. There's always going to be outspoken people a candidate can't reign in.

Maybe stop having him appear with you at campaign stops?

In April, Piker spoke at campaign events with El-Sayed on the campuses of the University of Michigan and Michigan State University. He called El-Sayed a "fighter" and an "incredible politician" during the event — and also cursed his critics.
This seat is crucial if the Democrats are to have any chance of winning the Senate. It's concerning that Sayed did significantly worse than polling had predicted; it would be interesting to see among which demos.

i agree, he should definintely avoid being involved with hasan piker. that dude is a tool

You can;t Piker has the right to say whatever idiocy he want to, what you can do is drop all connections with him, even if that mgith upset a few of your more extreme followers.
I thik that you will see split in among the Democratic (Party) progressvies between those who want to move away from the more extreme elements, and the more hard line.

I was curious about the Gerrymandering in Tennessee. It turns out that it's 70% white, 16%. So gerrymander away.
Compare to Illinois, traditionally democratic and a big urban population, 58% white and 14% black but 18% Hispanic plus some Asians. So there is less to gerrymander. Rural districts in Illinois are not so important. Map of districts:

Saw an interview with a former judge who thinks Johnson will refuse to seat Democratic members under Under Article I, Section 5, Clause 1 of the U.S. Constitution: "Each House shall be the Judge of the Elections, Returns and Qualifications of its own Members".

Then it would be up to the courts and ultimately SCOTUS. It's happened once before when the House refused to seat a member and the court ended up forcing them to. I don't know if it will go that far; I don't think the country would stand for it. But congress has historically taken the position that the decision not seat a member is unreviewable by federal courts, which is incorrect. In any case, if not this, I'm sure they'll try to pull something out of their bag of tricks.

And wouwld be in the worst crisis the country has seen since 1860. I know people laugh at me for my predictions of the possiblity of civil war, but at outrageous attempt to overturn an election like that will bring the country to the brink.

Meanwhile a good bit of news' The most outrageous Trump butt kisser in the US House loses his seat in the primary election:https://apnews.com/article/tennesse...ting-memphis-ad0c23a4d0d5f7464ff2bdbb892b0a3f

Don't want to go into the details, but look up the defeated congressman and his long history of WTF you are the Messiah statements about Trump.
I still don;t get why he lost, but nearest I can read it was about local politics; apparetnly he manages to piss off too many Party officials in his district, not a good thing.

And the GOP seems to be throwing Max Miller to the Wolves with several senators saying he should quit.
Though it is interesting that these calls come after the most recent polls showed Miller losing to his Democratic Opponent by the Double DIgits.......

Good, it used to be a pretty reliably red district; one more for the blue team.

May have something to do with Ogles constantly being in the news for being a jerkass. Not just in the usual way either - he spent a lot of time trying to get Mamdani deported, trying to make DC a federally run region, writing the isolationist assimilation act, and speaking like a jerkass on foreign relations (i.e. saying Canadians and Greenlanders want to be American).

As I said at the time: I'm sure this is of crucial importance to the people of Tennessee district 5.

By all means, please do focus on that...

Exclusive: GOP plans socialism telethon at midterm convention

Republicans plan to use their first-ever midterm convention in Dallas next month to mount a sweeping, made-for-prime-time case that Democrats have become captive to their activist left, Axios has learned.

In a CNN poll out last week, 73% thought Trump wasn't paying enough attention to key domestic issues. 65% said his policies were worsening economic conditions.

More bad news for the GOP. Yes please, keep hammering on socialism, that is sure to win votes.

Fake news!
Seriously, I'm really surprised Trump isn't just suppressing statistics like this and issuing fake ones.

i'm sure they do their best to suppress as much bad economic data as possible.
