The value of negotiations

Thought the brits made a distinction.
Some do, some don't. There's no doubt that the average Brit regard himself as less "European" than the average Frenchman, Dane or German, but they propably regard themselves as more European than the average Mexican, American or Chineese. In other words they're geografically located in Europe, but politically and with regards to selfidentification, they're probably located somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic.

We are geographically and politically part of Europe, as is the country the flag of of which is so prominently displayed in your avatar.

Incidentally, why did your post mention "Berlin or Paris", rather than, say "London or Madrid"? Ooh, I think I can guess.

yeah, thats what I thought. Many of my Brit friends would say "we are not part of Europe" when one generalized about the running dog socialist lackeys elsewhere over there.

Because, if you have been keeping up, that is the range of the missles that Iran has. This was published as a noce graphic in the Telegraph (i think, coulda been the Times).

How did your guess do?

Damn, it seems that they can't hit Paris. Maybe with a tail wind

Have you spoken to these people since 1973? If so, please tell them that denial isn't pretty.

Britain is in every way part of Europe, and if you wish only to insult continental Europe and the Republic of Ireland, you should say so. And I would still point out that you're wrong.

Directing insults against "continental europe" roll off the tongue about as well as one of those old commie epithets. I wonder what the common perception is. Perhpas a poll.

These are probably the same people who blame the European Union for the European Convention on Human Rights and the Human Rights Act.

Maybe. We'll see how well the convention holds as the Hamas situation develops.

Negotiate to what end? To give everyone something to do until they test a nuke?
Ed, my question was "what other options?". You're answering my question with a question. Is the ideal solution that only the US should possess nuclear weapons? Any other countries (especially ones that aren't friendly with the US) with the temerity to develop nuclear weapons should punished somehow?

Charlie (what a wonderful world) Monoxide

What has Hamas got to do with anything? They won the Palistinian election, you know - not the European one.

Well, it starts with Palestine and in no time, thanks to the European Appeasers, they'll have wiped Israel from the map and invaded the whole Northern Hemisphere, with the help of Iran's nukes and the muslim 5th column ... ;)

Ah yes, however will the poor powerless nuclear armed European countries counter the threat of invasion from such a powerful third world country as the Palestinian authority.

They are a terrorist organization. Dealing with terrorist organizations is forbidden by the EU. Or, perhaps, was. We'll see how it goes.

is it not PC to call them terrorists now?

You know full well that Europe (UK excepted), is under France's influence and will therefore surrender the minute any invader shows a weapon, nuclear or not ! The proof is into its willingness to "deal" with a terrorist organisation under the flimsy pretext that it has unfortunately been elected, when everybody with any sense of responsibility, history, self-respect, etc., knows that the proper response would be to close all links with Palestine, make the voters pay by starving them, even invade before any WMD are lauched at us.

Help me out here. Are there exceptions for elected governments?
