Apollo 11 Moon Landing Revisited: Hoax ~vs~ Debunk

Well, think about it. Imagine you were back in Year 1500 and the priests came along demanding money for every small penance. An annoying clever dick comes along and says, wait, how does that work? Hey presto, massive pile-on by outraged, er, country-dwellers just spoiling for a ruck. They know the priests are right because it's a fact, innit? Stands to reason.
But people did ask how it worked and we had the Reformation

I expect that self-righteous guff is indeed how you like to think of what's happening here but it absolutely isn't.

You're not the victimised honest seeker after truth here. You're a deeply dishonest manipulator winding people up for attention and even this post is a part of that.

You are only debating for one side.

Too many people seem to think that having an open mind just means being open to the evidence and arguments in favour of any claim, no matter how outlandish. But of course it also requires being equally open to the evidence and arguments against it.

If someone only ever looks for, let alone at, the evidence in favour of a claim, their mind is in fact firmly closed on it.

Needless to say, most people are particularly prone to making this mistake when the claim is one they would quite like to believe.

I must be psychic. I predicted you wouldn't address any awkward questions, but produce an unrelated stream of consciousness, and hey, presto!

From what I recall the change in moisture causes a change in the electrical readings. (EEG encephalogram not -cardiogram.). BTW I have actually experimented with these FYI.
And I have been taught to apply EEG electrodes by professional neuroscientists, which is part of how I know that electroencephalography is not used in a polygraph exam. Your "typos" reveal the sloppiness of your understanding. Electroencephalography decodes signals that originate in the brain. A polygraph measures galvanic skin response, which is looking at the electrical conductivity of the skin. Galvanic skin response is an indicator of stress, but not a reliable indicator of deception.

Electroencephalography can indeed be used to detect stress at the neurological level, but that signal occurs in an entirely different part of the signal spectrum—alpha and high beta—than distortions that might arise from perspiration (typically less than 4 Hz). In fact, the rolling distortion from perspiration must be filtered out (which is why engineers are employed to process the signals) before an EEG signal can be interpreted to indicate stress. The presence of the perspiration distortion indicates only perspiration. It is not proper to infer stress from that, nor deception from stress.

In any case, none of this tangent into yet another thing you don't know enables you or anyone else to look at a video of a stranger and pretend that examining "body language" is any sort of reliable way of determining whether someone is lying.

Imagine making repeated references to the OP video to urge attention at the hoax claimants it depicts while being thoroughly unaware of the opposing view being presented alongside them, even when invited to do so by people who actually appeared in the video and helped prepare it. It takes a special kind of bias to be that blinkered.

That's easier to imagine when we're talking to someone whose knowledge of photography, physics, and science in general was already pathetically out of date by the Year 1500.

I could have been a Judge, but I never had the Latin for the judging.
I never had it, so I'd had it, as far as being a judge was concerned.
Sitting on the Bench.

The trouble with it is the people.
I'm not saying you get a load of riffraff down the mine.
I'm not saying that.
I'm just saying we had a load of riffraff down my mine.

Hello, I found a bit of coal.

Have you really?

Yes, no doubt about it. This black substance is coal, all right.

Jolly good! The very thing we're looking for!

Yes. And what's more, it's quite a heavy lump!

Be very careful not to drop it on your foot, then . . . Ha Ha Ha!

What? Me drop a great heavy lump of coal on my foot? You must be out of your . . . Ooooohhh! . . . I've dropped it on my foot, I say.

Silly duffer.

Yes, hello, I found another lump of coal! Even heavier than the first lump!

Be very careful not to drop that on your foot then, Ha Ha Ha!

And what's more, being a miner, as soon as you're too old and tired and ill and sick and stupid to do your job properly, you have to go. Where the very opposite applies with the judges.

1) Then why did you write "ECG" in your original post? Don't try to pretend that was a typo, because it wasn't.

2) An EEG would not register perspiration either. What "you recall" is, in fact, you winging it.

3) In any case, neither ECG nor EEG is used in traditional polygraph tests. You're just making it up as you go along, aren't you?

Nah it's Google search with "ai assist" on that is making it all up.

I would much prefer to be a judge than a coal miner because of the absence of falling coal.

EEG = electroencephalogram, a depiction of electrical field variations in regions of the brain as measured by electrodes on the skin of the head.
ECG = electrocorticogram (also ECoG), a depiction of electrical field variations in regions of the brain as measured by electrodes on the cortex.
EKG = electrocardiogram, a depiction of electrical field variations in the nerves in the region of the heart as measured by electrodes on the skin chest and/or back.

EEG and EKG are affected by perspiration, but those effects must be filtered out in order to obtain useful measurements. ECG is not affected by perspiration, as the electrodes are not on the skin.

Polygraphs do not perform any of these measurements. When @Vixen says that this is how polygraphs work, she is simply wrong. When she says she has experimented with EEG but cannot effectively distinguish it from electrodermal response (EDR), she is not likely to have had that experience or to be recalling it accurately. When she uses the incorrect abbreviations, she is not likely to be speaking from expertise.

The Papal body language experts determined that Luther had a sinful posture and heretical blink rate. He also licked his lips numerous times as he spoke, indicating the promulgation of lies and false teachings -the telltale "serpent's tongue". (Yes, snakes lick their lips, shut up). The rest is history.
