FOr those of you who did not watch the game, it was brutal. The Belgians pretty much manhandled the Americans. The US was clearly over matched.
No one should be surprised. In the US Soccer is popular with kids, but once they reach Junior High/Middle school, the kids are pretty much drawn to the more popular sports Football (american) Baseball, Basketball. That is what the reall good atheltes end up playing.

They do? They fired the auditors who were investigating the corruption, and replaced them with investigators who would not ask questions.

Infantino is very corrupt, but he has supported football outside Europe, so that he has a lot of support (but not from Europe). Those supporters know that he is corrupt, but he implements the politics they want, so they don't care. Much like how Trump's supporters know that Trump is corrupt, but as long as he owns the libs, they don't care.

Possibly, yes. I am not in the least interested in football, or any sports for that matter, so sports knowledge is populating my mind very sparsely. What I wrote was based on a vaguely remembered interview with one of the former FIFA auditors, who claimed that Infantino had put African football on the map by securing a flow of money to build training facilities for African youth, and so on, which made Infantino very popular. All of this could also be seen as bribes.

The former auditor also noted that the new auditors were given a pay rise, officially in order to "strengthen" their office.
