The behaviour of UK police officers.

This annotated video is quite informative. Also gives a more probable transcript of some of the dialogue than what I thought I heard.

Hopefully this doesn't go away and the victim isn't convicted.

ETA: I hadn't noticed this before. I thought the second WPC had simply walked a few steps after the retreating group of attackers (who were only walking) then given up and come back. But she actually caught up with them and seems to have had a wee chat, before letting them go on their way.

The other men in the foreground tried to remonstrate with the first WPC, telling her she'd got it wrong, but she ignored them.

How would you recognise it in the statistics?
If it was happening at anything like a significant scale you would see a change in the statistics. And we haven't. We don't even see a change in the years immediately following the published results of the big inquiries into policing, when we are told that those are historical issues and the police have learnt the lessons and it is very different today.

At the moment the right and far right are creating a false narrative about a two tier system. There is a two tier system but it is the opposite of what they claim; if you are white in the UK the current CJ system is biased in your favour, and that starts from childhood. A two hour lecture on "diversity" every few years and some posters being put up is not going to change the police, nor the CPS, nor the courts, nor the prisons.

Look at all the effort going in to improve how the police in England and Wales deal with victims of rape and other sexual assaults - Operation Soteria - and that is hardly shifting the needle. The police have not in any sense gone "woke".

It's an interesting detail. As the first WPC is slamming the victim up against the shop-front and screaming obscenities at him, her colleague is standing in a relaxed group with the assailants.

A moment later the second WPC simply turns away from this cosy interaction and returns to the scene of the assault, first walking, then running, to assist with the continuing abuse of the victim. Leaving the group of assailants to walk on and disappear up the street.

The victim's name is Cody Harper. I hope very much that the strength of public feeling about this protects him from jail sentence for assaulting a police officer. The incident occurred almost two weeks ago but there has been no update about whether he was bailed or remanded in custody, and no word about a court appearance.

Apparently "you'll get dropped" means "you will be violently beaten to the floor".

Exceptions and outliers can also add up to worrying new trends long before they're apparent in mass statistics.

I take it that you're acknowledging that some police officers are going soft on ethnic minority miscreants while assuming the worst against white men, it's just that you don't think it happens often enough to worry about? Tell that to Henry Nowak, Cody Harper and the rest.

Nope and nope.

That's a lie.
"I don't think you have it is mate".

It's an observation based on your favoured method of surreptitiously supporting them. You ignore any documented instances that you can see with your own eyes.

Though I sincerely hope it never happens, I have a vision of you getting the ◊◊◊◊ kicked out of you by some of our finest while exclaiming, "wait, OW! this behaviour OWW! isn't supported by statistics and trends OOF!

◊◊◊◊ the police.

They are your enemy.

What an embarrassment these fat little piggies are to our country.

And the odious prick @Keir_Starmer has the gall to talk about our proud heritage of free speech.

I want my country back

I have been spat at, manhandled, threatened and stopped by the police many times,- the first time over 40 years ago. As I said recently in this thread:

Not since 1984 have I ever trusted the police accounts of their injuries and subsequent charges. ...snip....

....snip....

Our police forces are - to use that wonderful politician speak - not fit for purpose. I don't think they have ever been, allegations (often proved) of corruption and inequality in policing date back to shortly after the founding of the Met police service and they have never stopped.
And that's just from a few days ago.

What I won't do is go along with the right and far right's narrative, because there is no evidence to support their lies i.e. that non-white British are favoured by the police forces, all data points to it being the other way around. In other words if you are non-white British you will be stopped more by the police, you will be searched more by the police, you will be more likely to have an intimate search, you will be more likely to be arrested, more likely to be charged, more likely to be convicted, and more likely to receive harsher sentences.

If you want to play a useful idiot for the likes Reform and Respect go ahead, but I won't be doing so.

It seems to me that there's a certain type of person who points out, every time the police mistreat someone black or Asian, that a single incident proves nothing about systemic racism, and hint that it shouldn't even be suggested. It seems also to me that the same people are quick to claim, any time the police mistreat someone white, that this one incident proves beyond all doubt the police are discriminating against white people.
