Trump's Second Term

What I found interesting is that Texas was the first state to make Juneteenth an official holiday:

Texas passes a bill becoming the first state in the nation to make Juneteenth an official state holiday
Texas in 1979 was very different from Texas today. Juneteenth became a Texas holiday at the end of a decade in which the Dallas Cowboys won two Super Bowls and lost three.

More relevantly, when Bill Clements entered office in January 1979, he was the first Republican governor of Texas in 105 years. All 27 of the governors who served during those 105 years were Democrats. (Reminder: Abraham Lincoln was a Republican when the Democratic Party was the pro-slavery party. Following the civil war, most Confederate states went back to electing Democrats as soon as they were allowed to do so. During the 1960s, however, it was the Democrats who favored civil rights for the descendants of black slaves. Although that created an opening for Republicans in states that were still feeling butt-hurt by their defeat in the War of Northern Aggression, it took a while for Republicans to rid themselves of their association with Lincoln's policies.)

In 1982, Clements was defeated by Democrat Mark White. In 1986, Clements returned the favor. In 1990, Democrat Ann Richards was elected governor. In 1994, she was defeated by Republican George W Bush, who was succeeded by Republican Rick Perry, who was succeeded by the current governor, Republican Greg Abbott.

The Cowboys did win two more Super Bowls while Ann Richards was governor, and yet another just over a year into Dubya's term.

Perhaps that is why the senior US army chaplain was dismissed.
Presumably he will apply the same to medics and nurses who are also officers but not war fighters?
I can see why Hegseth considered him unqualified.

When Donald falls asleep at a meeting, is the correct response to nudge him awake or to carry on and pretend he is still taking part in the conversation?
I couldn't find the answer in the book of presidential etiquette.

PAULA WHITE: Nobody has stood up like you have stood up

TRUMP: *sitting* *asleep*

It's a Sherman Tank, the most iconic American tank.
Of course they were going to use it.
Plus, any tank driving slowly in dry weather will make the same sound to some degree, especially when the tracks could be 70 or more years old.

I think it was that the tank went by with complete lack of any other sound. No crowd sounds. No cheers. No band. Just the sound of treads. It was obviously uninspired because it wasn't what the Army wanted for its own birthday in the first place. Hence why you had soldiers just walking by the President holding onto drones with their hands, etc.

Trump wanted a military parade like the dictators with ceremonial armies have and that just isn't what the US Army does.
