Merged (edited) General thoughts about Christianity and the bible

It's a deeply held belief amongst god botherers who don't understand evolution.

@Rusty Tyler, like similar ignorant god botherers, doesn't understand new breeds (of cats, dogs, cows.....) have come into existence. Nor does her understand Lenski's e-coli experiments (showing evolution in action) or the other examples.

It's like their faulty understanding of the Laws of Thermodynamics. (The 'closed system' bit)

Imagine a creature that has no eyes. It spends most of its time in the silt at the bottom of the sea, but once in a while it emerges and more often than not, gets eaten.

A random genetic mutation creates a photo sensitive cell. Now the creature's offspring can tell dark from light. They survive better than their parents because they can avoid exposing themselves to predators. Their progeny thrive.

A random genetic mutation creates an abundance of light sensitive cells. These offspring do even better because they're more capable of discerning when they're exposed. Their progeny thrive.

A random genetic mutation gathers the light sensitive cells in one place. These offspring have an even more acute sensitivity to light, and do even better than their parents. Their progeny thrive.

A random genetic mutation creates a dip where the light sensitive cells are clustered. Now the creature can tell roughly which direction the light is coming from. Their progeny thrive.

A random genetic mutation creates a membrane over the dip in which the light sensitive cells are clustered. This focuses the light, a crude kind of lens, which generates a rough image on the light sensitive cells. They can actively seek out food their parents had to bump into by luck. Their progeny thrive.

Etc.

Rusty, if you want to argue no new information is being created here, have at it. But the organism is getting increasingly complicated, increasingly "fit" to its environment, is out competing the forms that came before it -- and that's how evolution works. (Very, very basically, and leaving a lot out.)

This is all I found on the latest findings from Archaeologist on the Noah's Ark on top of the Mountain in Turkey.

Young Earth Creationists can see through this stupid ◊◊◊◊. Rusty can't...

I never thought the day would come when I'd be linking to a creationist ministry's house magazine because they have a better grasp of reality than a poster here, but strange days....
