My pleasure. Thanks again for asking.Thank you for that Rusty, I appreciate your answer.
I agree. We tend to trust those who cared for us.I'm sure others will point out that most religious people were born into their religion.
I don't expect anyone to believe me. Especially not here. But my interest lies here: Is there any part of your experience you can use to convince those of us who don't believe?
Correct. If I read you right, you probably didn't know the Bible forwards and backwards as an eight year old
Yes, but it was a complete surprise. I thought I was already approved. I found out that day that I was really like all those other kids that I thought needed God, when I in fact did not have God myself.it sounds like you delved deeply into it only after the fact. And Jesus came to you only after a good deal of social and cultural indoctrination.
I have no hope of convincing any of you. Nothing about my approach will be fruitful by human effort. So I'm wondering how Noah's Ark claims and miracle healing and Bible quotes are meant to be convincing to those of us who either had no indoctrination, or deliberately worked our way out of indoctrination. How do you envision your approach being fruitful?
Only God can change a heart. If my words lead to a divine encounter, over which I have no control, that's the only thing that works.
The Apostle Paul was on the road to Damascus with evil plans for the church, but Jesus stopped him in his tracks. (Acts 9)
