Cave Found Beneath the Euphrates River!

So, instead of helping me back up on my feet, you prefer to kick me while I'm down?
You've been given ample opportunity to correct the error. I've accidentally shared misinformation before. It's not the end of the world. The honest thing to do in these cases is to acknowledge the mistake and try to do better in the future. However, you appear to be prioritizing your pride over your honesty.

If you follow a religion that condemns bearing false witness, now would be the time to reflect on your behavior in this thread.

Which was wrong.

It isn't. Your source was clearly labeled as fiction. You were clearly told not to take it as a representation of fact. Either you ignored it at the time, or came lately to that realization. In the former case, shame on you. In the latter case, you should admit your error.

I see no sign of repentance on your part. If you wish to see the forum's forgiveness, earn it in the customary manner.
I tried to ask this question previously, and I didn't see it posted.

If it was out of line, please accept my apologies.

I was asking about "earning the forum's forgiveness in the customary manner."

What is "the customary manner" to earn the forum's forgiveness?

I've never heard of that before.

On this forum when you make a mistake like posting a fiction video and claiming it's real, then doubling down on it when it's pointed out that it's fiction, the 'customary manner' would be to admit you've made a mistake. Admitting error, when appropriate, is generally respected and applauded here as a sign of honesty, refusing to back down when you're clearly and demonstrably wrong is regarded with contempt.

Okay, having had a brief look at the video, I actually respect the effort put into it, AI or not. Not stellar writing, but they did put together a 30 minutes mockumentary. Interesting concept.

This. I feel like I get things wrong all the time, but then someone comes along and corrects me and I've learned something. No big deal.
Obviously thinking what's obviously a for-entertainment-only YouTube video is real is quite a big mistake, but still, we're all new to AI, and some are new to critical thinking. You live and learn. Doubling down just makes the mistake more embarrassing down the road.
