Ed Israel/US Attacks Iran /Yet Another Country/Iran

It will all work well out in the end.

Donald J. Trump
@realDonald Trump
Iran really wants to make a deal, and it will be a good one for the U.S.A. and those that are with us. But don't the Dumocrats, and various seemingly unpatriotic Republicans, understand that it is MUCH tougher for me to properly do my job and negotiate, when political hacks keep negatively "chirping," at levels never seen before, over and over again, that I should move faster, or move slower, or go to war, or not go to war, or whatever.

Just sit back and relax, it will all work out well in the end - It always does! President DJT

Exxon warns oil inventories will hit dangerously low levels in weeks, forcing prices to shoot higher
“We’re approaching unheard of inventory levels,” said Exxon Senior Vice President Neil Chapman at a conference hosted by Bernstein in New York.
“I mean really, really low levels,” Chapman warned. “You can debate whether that’s going to hit, those really low levels, in two weeks or three weeks. Once you get to that point, then you’ll see price shoot up.”
The price of physical Brent oil cargoes will spike to $150 to $160 per barrel when inventories hit all-time lows in coming weeks, the executive said. “When the price gets to a certain level, demand destruction brings it back into balance,” he said.
What does 'demand destruction' mean? People refusing/unable to pay the higher price and/or finding ways to cut down on consumption. A big boost for EVs and renewables, bad news for the economy.

But will the war be over in 2-3 weeks? Unlikely. The US didn't destroy Iran's missile stocks, it just made them inaccessible by blowing up the entrances to their tunnels. Iran has been beavering away clearing the rubble from those entrances. This is no secret as everyone can see it in the satellite images. No doubt the US wants to prevent those missiles coming online, but to do so it risks high losses unless it knocks out Iran's defense systems, which it's now doing in so-called 'defensive' strikes. But Iran is responding with similar strikes against US bases. The so-called 'ceasefire' is now well and truly over. The war is heating up. Chances of Iran wanting a 'deal' under these circumstances are zero.

the war just accelerates the inevitable decline - the US just doesn't have the manufacturing capacity China has, and by depleting its inventories, is is just hasting the moment when China will surpass it in any category that matters militarily.
The second half of the Century won't be an American one.

Not a cult

Another Donald masterstroke apparently

Rep. Riley Moore on Iran: "Of course it's another masterstroke by the president, who's ended multiple conflicts in his term. This is gonna be another one that's gonna go down in the history books as one of the great peace deals he's done."

Im the past, when I've said "He's ended so many wars that he needs to start more so he can end them too", I was joking.

Best case scenario:
Trump told Netanjahu that he has to wrap things up, because The Deal is coming whether he likes it or not

Of course, after the vicious attack on Lebanon, the price for Peace with Iran has just gone up.

I certainly hope so. There was a very short-lived dip in road traffic and consequent upturn in public transport at the very start, but people have swallowed the increase and drive every bit as much as they were. I think oil at $200 permanently would be a good thing.

Cost is no disincentive yet. Except to the lowest-earners and Uncle Luxie just threw them fiddy a week, so it's all good.

If you think this one is stupid, just wait til the next one!

Yeah, but seeing as how Cuba is a given, at least it will be on prime time.

Iranian Foreign Ministry: I would encourage the media to be more cautious in taking American statements seriously. You have seen how frequently they change their positions and make inaccurate statements.

These contradictions may be part of their negotiating strategy, but if so, it will not work with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

If these contradictions are the result of dysfunction within the American governing system—which is quite possible—then that is a problem the United States must solve

Iran is winning, and that is NOT a good thing. A number of people seem to have forgotten what a brutal regime the Ayatollahs are.
I think the war was incredibly stupid, and I am not buying into the :Well, If Trump is against them they must be good guys" crap .
And the strati of Hormuz remain closed. The only military action I would support is a to reopen the Straits, since giving Iran a premanent chokehold on the Persian Gulf would just lead to more coflict later.
Trump has managed to strenthen the Iranian regime so any chances of it being ovethrown by the Irnaina people in the near future are nil. THat is truly sad.

I had a very productive call with Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, of Israel, and there will be no Troops going to Beirut, and any Troops that are on their way, have already been turned back. Likewise, through highly placed Representatives, I had a very good call with Hezbollah, and they agreed that all shooting will stop — That Israel will not attack them, and they will not attack Israel.

Make your mind up!

Trump on Fox claims his strikes haven't really hurt the Iranian military:
"We've actually left their military alone. People would be surprised to hear that."

I mean, there's plenty to bitch about with respect to Trump saying stupid things all the time. But I would think you can still draw the very reasonable distinction between destroying military armaments and gear and actually hurting military personnel? So far as I know, the US has done very minimal damage to people forces. Not zero, but pretty low casualties given how much materiel has been taken out.

Someone disagrees with you Donald

Benjamin Netanyahu - בנימין נתניהו
@netanyahu
Translated from Hebrew
Tonight, I spoke with President Trump and told him that if Hezbollah does not cease attacking our cities and citizens—Israel will attack terror targets in Beirut.

This stance of ours remains unchanged.

In parallel, the IDF will continue to operate as planned in southern Lebanon.

He talking bollocks as usual

He doesn't know how to get out of this thing, and neither does Kegstand. Some of the generals do, but the afformentioned idiots don't listen.
