Merged (edited) General thoughts about Christianity and the bible

LOL
All the evidence says "YES!!!"
But you still don't believe it.
Asked and answered. What you think is evidence is mere attribution. That's why I asked you specific questions to guide you toward what actual evidence would have been. Why did you ignore those questions? I'm handing you the reasons for my disbelief on a silver platter.

Why were my hands burning up with heat?
Were they actually hot, or did you just feel something that seemed like a sensation of heat?

This was extraordinary, but not foreign to me.
It may or may not be extraordinary. Its familiarity to you is irrelevant to whether it is probative to someone else for some specific claim.

I was used to warmth on my hands during worship times.
Usually felt like delicate flames flickering on my upward palms.
And what exercise did you do to investigate potential causes for this before you just concluded it must be something supernatural?

Consistent?
Seems more like "persistent" to me.
There's nothing wrong with that. Treating putatively similar claims in a similar manner is how you avoid bias. Treating all supernatural claims as equally unlikely (because that's what supernatural implies) and forcing each claim to stand or fall according to objective, testable evidence is eminently scientific and fair. You keep trying to claim your critics are prejudiced against you when in fact you're not being given the preferential acceptance you want. You want your supernatural claims to be taken at face value while you categorically reject supernatural claims coming from others. That's the bias. Instead, we reject all supernatural claims—yours included. No bias.

LOL
Are you nuts?
No one does that.
I don't need proof that Jesus heals.
I already believe it.

There's the problem: No one does that. People who already believe it, believe it. Here you have a bunch of people who do not already believe it.

The thing is, are you quite sure no one does that? The earliest story I've heard of someone attempting to measure the power of prayer was Francis Galton, who reasoned that prominent people ought to be paying less for life insurance as, if they ever fell sick, they would have an entire parish, or even an entire country, praying in church for their recovery. So he set out to calculate the strength of the effect statistically. As you may have guessed, the measured life-extending benefit of intercessory prayer turned out to be zero.

I asked him if he could feel anything. He remarked about the "tremendous heat" on his back.
Just a heads up, bro- you don't have to do all that work of copying your posts and inserting a 'Rusty Tyler said' link. The forum does it for you with a couple quick clicks.

Hit that '+Quote' icon next to reply you want to include in another response, and a banner will come up saying 'message added to multi quote' or something. Then quote whatever other post you are replying to, and at the bottom you will see 'attach quotes'. Click that that and a menu will pop up for you t select the quotes you want included in your new post.

If you just want to reference a post you yourself made, just click on 'Reply' to your own post, and it will queue it right up for you.

Initially I thought it was a circulation issue. I shook my hands and relaxed them at my sides.
The condition persisted. I finally asked God what it was. It was then that I could sense that these were delicate flames.

In another situation entirely, we visited a church to hear an African pastor speak.
My wife and I went forward for prayer at the end. When the Pastor reached out a hand to pray for us,
he pulled back immediately saying, "Your hot!" Which resulted in a spark that blew us off our feet.

I was thinking about your idea of getting doctor's evaluation before healing prayer.
I had no idea the man was coming to the service or what was about to transpire.
It was what it was. I wasn't trying to prove anything.
I wasn't even expecting the man to get healed from my prayers. It just happened.

Where's the plus sign?

EDIT: Wasn't there until I hit SAVE.

Where's the plus sign?
Bottom right of the post, just to the left of <-Reply and to the right of 'Like'

It's one button, one function. If you hit it a second time, a banner comes up saying 'message removed from multi quote'

We do.
Amen Brother!

Jesus, if he lived at all, is dead today. Saying he is alive today is merely wishful thinking. But I'm willing to accept that he's still alive. Where exactly is this living, breathing human being walking around?

Saying he heals is also wishful thinking. But again, prove it with data, not anecdotes.

Well remember he teleported over to what is now the USA with a load of mates.

What's evil about it?
If someone is requesting that it be cast out, it is probably causing serious problems of an evil nature.
Some Jinns (genies) are considered

Djinn, also known as jinn or genies, are supernatural beings in pre-Islamic Arabian religion and Islam.
They are considered to be accountable for their actions and can be either good, evil, or neutral,
often depicted as mischievous forces in folklore.

Would you like to ask a moderator to change the title of this thread then?

You clearly think/believe/state/whatever that there is a lot of evidence.

The rest of us say, "Yeah, nah! That's not what evidence looks like!"

Looks like Captain Rum would have been a better user name here...
