Merged (edited) General thoughts about Christianity and the bible

So what is the Knowledge of Good and Evil? Ethics and morality, +/-, yeah? So God ordered his creation to not have knowledge of what was good (the other part that gets soft pedaled)? Why would God not want his creation to know about good and evil? Seems like an important thing to know?
Good questions.
Prior to this initial test, they had no use for determining good and evil.
Evil had not yet been introduced to their lives. Probably why they fell for it.

I like the unanswered question in Genesis three. "Who told you that you were naked?"
Who indeed. ???

As soon as they ate thereof they seemed to have lost their minds.
Scurrying about looking to hide and cover themselves.

At the end of chapter two, they were naked and unashamed. What happened?

Genesis 3:10-11 NIV
[Adam] answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”
11 And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”

Genesis 2:25 NIV
Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.

"I don’t. I have no idea. It merely pleases me to behave in a certain way to what appears to be a cat. What else do you do?"
How does that differ from someone who is completely selfish?

I guess you already told me? You have no idea?

The goal would be correction, restoration and redemption.

Those are good questions.
The "god thingie" gave you a free will. You need to be accountable for what you did with that.
Will He agree that you lived your life the way He meant for you to live it?
And you can't blame Him for what you CHOSE not to believe. That's on you.
I neither need correction, restoration nor redemption, and if that is what it offers i would say no thanks. It didn’t ask me before it made me, so why should I agree to its silly games and rules? If it wanted me to know that I had to believe in it, it should have told me first.

And as for chosing not to believe? No, I haven't. I just don't, and I cannit chose to do so. And if your god thingie created me, surely it would know that? And surely it had been the one who chose for me?

A coercive and abusive relationship, and one with rules that I haven't been told about, or agreed to. Thanks, possibly, but no thanks.

Creating someone, playing games with them, and then "correcting" thrm for failing to follow the rules they weren't told about? Sociopath.

I have in fact lived my life to the best of my ability. I have done some good, and not that much bad - the very notion that I should be judged by someone i have no relationship with, is both arrogant and condescending.

Ok, but that's not answering or clearing up anything. If they chose to be disobedient, they chose evil before chowing down. It *did* exist, and was in fact put there by the Big Guy and already at the First Couple's disposal.

How much bad would be deserving of correction?

I used to work in prison ministry.
The guys there always pointed to someone they thought was worse than they were.
Even though they were both in prison. Does the "god-thingie" grade on a curve or PASS/FAIL?

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of the "god-thingie".

If you insist that your god made me, then point your finger at it instead. I do not believe that sin exists. Crimes should be judged by the judiciary. And as for falling short of the glory of your god, if it is omni+, I blame it, not humans.
That's an interesting point.

I would say that God created the original humans.
And humans have been making humans ever since.
Bad seed produces bad plants.

We can't really blame God for our badness.
And He expects us to strive for better.
