Ed Israel/US Attacks Iran /Yet Another Country/Iran

Watters: They have a nuclear powered aircraft carrier, it's just hanging around the mediterranean. It could be in the gulf in just a few days. We saved the French twice from the Germans. They can't do mop up duty? Daddy has to get the kids to move out. They can't live in the basement forever. But if they do, they have to pay rent.

Failed basic education. When my little brother littered the living room with his lego and then left telling me to clean because I was a girl, my dad made him clean the whole house, telling him "you thrash, you clean !"

Watters: When they meet with the Iranian delegation on Saturday, they should listen to the Iranian BS and then walk out of the meeting and the president should say the ceasefire is off. Market panics, oil jumps and the whole world will see the Iranians as unreasonable. The whole world will turn against them

Nope, the whole world will roll its collective eyes at the POTOSUS, his cabinet, the congress, and idiots like you, again.

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
There are reports that Iran is charging fees to tankers going through the Hormuz Strait They better not be and, if they are, they better stop now! President DONALD J. TRUMP
... said the guy who, only days ago, suggested he wanted a piece of that action.

<edit> I see I am last in the queue to make this point so please feel free to regard my imitation as sincere flattery.

Does he expect the French to 'mop up' Israel so the ceasefire can begin? No, I don't think so either. So WTF does he imagine this 'mopping up' consists of?

It's a brilliant plan. Flawless. There is zero possibility of Trump's people being seen as the obstructive ones when they walk out, and nobody will think Trump is to blame when Trump declares the ceasefire is off. They'll just keep paying 175.9p per litre for super unleaded (FFS), call it the price of failure and thank heavens for sending Trump to save the world from its boring lack of pointless new wars.

<Edit to correct the price I paid this morning. My fingers failed to believe my brain and typed a high but less ridiculous price>

Graham: Our goal is to make sure Iran cannot become again the largest state sponsor of terrorism.

Q: Does the the president have a plan to guarantee that happens?

Graham: No. It's not his job

:D His hobby, perhaps. If he manages to achieve that goal, who will be the new largest state sponsor of terrorism, and does it then become Trumps new not-his-job to blow them up too?

@realDonald Trump
The Iranians don't seem to realize they have no cards, other than a short term extortion of the World by using International Waterways. The only reason they are alive today is to negotiate!

President DONALD J. TRUMP

a strange parallel to Trump using the Nuclear Option of 100% tariffs to get his way to Iran using the Nuclear Option of closing the Strait to get their way.
The solution on both cases is to become more independent, but in the meantime you have to pay the extra tax.

Well, hang on. Americans have a constitutionally guaranteed right to say practically anything at all.
No we don't.

We have a right to express our political beliefs unhindered by the government. I can call the president a moron, I can say my senator is a scumbag. I can layout issues I feel a need to be addressed without fear of redress by local, county, state, or federal officials.

I do no have a right to say city hall needs to be burned to the ground with the mayor and city council inside. I do not have a right to state I hope some politician's plane crashes.

I do not have a right to yell "Fire" or "Gun" in a crowded theater. I do not have a right to incite a riot.

We missed out on a true Constitutional test by not charging Trump and his junta after the January 6th riots. He clearing set them into motion, yet Biden's AG was a gutless coward. Not sure if we could stick a conviction, but it would have been worthwhile/

Depends. This would only be illegal if it was considered incitement, ie, that you are actually trying to get someone to do it, rather than just venting your anger.
I do not have a right to state I hope some politician's plane crashes.
Oh, you ABSOLUTELY have the right to state that. Good thing too, or a lot of forum members here would be risking jail.
I do not have a right to yell "Fire" or "Gun" in a crowded theater.
Actually, you probably can.
I do not have a right to incite a riot.
That's the first one you've gotten right.
We missed out on a true Constitutional test by not charging Trump and his junta after the January 6th riots.
Never mind, you didn't get it right. You don't actually understand incitement at all.

jan 6 was a single piece of a much broader effort to overturn the election via fake electors. it was so outrageous that it often overshadows that fact but that’s important to acknowledge the bigger picture there. it’s extremely difficult to frame jan 6 as a free speech issue in that context

you’re right, you don’t have a constitutional right to lie as much as you want about whatever you want and in this case that’s called election fraud, not constitutionally protected speech.

i agree they dropped the ball in waiting so long to bring a case and allowed for all the delays to the point where trump was reelected and dropped the case against himself. but ultimately there were enough americans that were willing to overlook it all and vote for him again to put him in a position to do that. the case wasn’t dropped on the merits of free speech

I think the highlighted part is actually OK. Otherwise I (and a lot of other people, even on this site) may be in a bit of trouble!

Why does a ceasefire between the US/Israel and Iran have to include Hezbollah? That's not a logical necessity. That may be a choice Iran is making, but they don't have to make it. It's part of their 10 point proposal, but the US and Israel have not and never will agree to all 10 points. So where did this idea that Hezbollah is part of the ceasefire come from? Shehbaz Sharif apparently claimed it was in a tweet but I can find no confirmation that the US and Israel actually agreed to this.

I don't know why the US or Israel would agree to that, nor do I think it's an honest demand from Iran either. They don't actually control Hezbollah, they can't actually stop Hezbollah from launching attacks. So even if the cease fire did include them, that would mean the US could resume hostilities against Iran even if Iran did nothing at all to violate the cease fire. Why would Iran want to put themselves in that position? It seems to me that any cease fire with Hezbollah should be negotiated separately with Hezbollah.

Citing numerous sources, Gemini.ai states that Hezbollah is under the direct control of the IRGC:

"As of early 2026, IRGC commanders are personally managing Hezbollah's strategic war plans and executing operations, effectively bypassing the group's traditional Lebanese leadership. Lebanese officials, including the Prime Minister, have publicly stated that the IRGC is now orchestrating Hezbollah's combat operations."

Huh, interesting.

I'm shocked, I tell ya - shocked!

Why would you want to revisit 6 Jan in a thread about Trump and the Zionazis' war on Iran/Lebanon/Gaza/West Bank? Hmmm?

A critical part of the US force in the Gulf, especially since the loss of at least one AWACS, is the Navy MQ-4C Triton reconnaissance drone - a massive long distance machine with a wingspan bigger than a 737 and a pricetag of $200 million each.

Oh, and we just lost one.

i have a fun fact about jan 6. did you know that jack smith testified to congress that donald trump was most responsible for it, which again was only a part of a much broader attempt at election fraud?

another interesting fact about his investigation, in which he said he had strong evidence that he believed would convince a jury trump had committed election fraud, is that it's what led to the mar a lago stolen documents case in which donald trump had stolen and refused to return dozens of boxes of the highest level government secrets. he did some crazy stuff like he had walt nauta move them around mar a lago to hide them from the fbi including hiding them in a bathroom, and mixed them with his personal effects. how the two were related, well we don't know that because trump appointed judge aileen cannon wouldn't allow smith to talk about any of it. he wrote a report about it, but cannon blocked the release and the trump doj didn't object to it being blocked, so there it sits.

pretty interesting stuff to me at least. i'm not sure too much about the israel and gaza stuff but it must be pretty bad if they'd rather talk about this tho.

I have no idea where you got these ideas from. You are just plain wrong. You do, in fact, have the right to say those things as long as as long as they do not meet the Brandenburg test, which I explained above.
I do not have a right to yell "Fire" or "Gun" in a crowded theater.
Probably not, because those acts would likely meet the Brandenburg Test.
I do not have a right to incite a riot.
It depends. Incitement to violence is legally protected speech unless it meets the Brandenburg test (whose required elements, I'll remind you, are intent, imminence, and likelihood).

Here, I'll even do your work for you: Brandenburg Test.

It sucks to lose systems, but they don't call it war for fun. Also, nitpick: The Triton's role and capabilities don't overlap with the AWACS role at all.
