Roosevelt wasn't just giving stuff away. Britain paid hard cash and gold for everything.
Good job the US manufacturers got all those contracts to develop and manufacture modern weapons. Without the expertise and factories that were developed the US military would have been in trouble when it needed to re-arm itself.

Yes Mondial cannot seem to grasp that neutrals can make and sell weapons to both sides if they can reach both sides; France and Britain both sold material to the US and Confederacy and in WWII Sweden and Switzerland sold equipment, assisted and aided both the Nazis and Allies.

Was the US more helpful to the Allies that the Nazis, yes it was because England wasn't going to attack the US while the Nazis while distance were a threat and an ally with Japan a nation that being an active aggressor in Asia and which war with the US was considered very possible.
 
IMO, Roosevelt certainly did everything he could to get America into the war on the Allied side, and that is a good thing. He was smart enough to realize that the Nazis and Japanese empire needed to be defeated, but until Pearl Harbor it wasn't really politically possible. Though I don't believe he had prior knowledge of Pearl Harbor, I do think he was trying to provoke an attack by Japan. Had he simply caved in to the isolationists, we would have been in a much weaker position when we finally, inevitably got drawn into the war.

Not by Japan so much, he was certainly seeking to provoke the Germans, especially by US naval operations in the Atlantic.

From the Fall of France on, the US was in what would later be called A "Cold War" with Nazi Germany. US did everything short of actual war to oppose Nazi Germany....and the last month before Pearl Harbor was in a state of "quasi war" with Germany on the high seas.

Exactly. A undeclared Naval War. From October 1941 US ships were pretty much under orders to shoot at any German Submarine that threatened a convoy.

Someone cue in Woody Guthrie's "Reuben James".

To be fair, the US wasn't actually at war and by the time the US got to Truk the Japanese couldn't do much about it.
