Sorry, but the Costra Nostra was the single most powerful organized crime group in the US for a few decades,and it was Italian in origin and membership. Of course it was wrong and stupid to say All Italian American were criminals, but to deny the reality of the Mafia is just plain foolish.
BTW it was Italian American Law enforcment officals who eventually wrecked much of the Mafia;s power. For them, it was a personal fight.
The ulitmate comment on those who insist out of Political Correctness that the Mafia never existed or had no power, was when the head of the Italian American Civil Rights League, Joe Colombo , who insisted there was no such thing as the Mafia, was gunned down at a rally by his Mob enemies. Colombo happened to be the head of one of the New York Five Famalies....

Yes, I have. The man is a disgusting POS and the worst POTUS in our history. But that does not justify "hating" the entire country when you know that about half of the US, if not more, hates him, too. Sorry, but you're just trying to justify your 'lump them all into one basket' comment.

Just to nitpick a little...

First of all, it may be true that more than half the country hates him NOW, but the important measure is how they looked at him in the 2024 election, when what they thought of Trump actually mattered.

Secondly, it is true that Trump never got a majority in any election. In 2024 he got around 49% of the vote. However, there were millions of potential voters who either didn't vote at all, or threw their ballot away. They may not have particularly LIKED Trump (enough to cast their ballot for him at least), but they didn't actually hate him either, to the point where they would make any realistic effort to stop him (by voting for Harris, the only reasonable alternative to block him). They were A-Ok with fascism coming to the US, not pushing for it but not opposing it either.

Instead of saying "less than half of voters wanted Trump as president" you should be saying "of the 245 million potential voters, only 75 million wanted him stopped, by voting for the only reasonable alternative (Harris). Roughly 2/3rds of all voters either wanted Trump as president by actively voting for him, or at minimum didn't oppose his plans to impose fascism by wasting their ballot."

To be honest, I am skeptical about whether that email hack would make cause him to be kicked out of cabinet.

Time and time again, I have seen reports that "some cabinet member will soon be kicked out" over some type of incompetence or another. But still, they hang around, stinking up the place like a dead woodchuck under the front porch.

"Bondi will be kicked out for bungled prosecutions". She's still there
"Secretary Brainworm will be kicked out because his position on vaccines is unpopular". He's still there.

It would not surprise me if Patel stuck around in the job, with Trump doubling down on his support because "Iran was the guilty party here"
 
My mother was one of those votes for Trump. She seemed pretty alert and with it, but probably had heard a lot of her husband's Fox News crap and believed he would 'drain the swamp'. I don't understand why she forgot he'd been president once already and hadn't drained any swamps then.

Directly into his own, his family's and his cronies pockets.

This isn't really a "Sorry, but" thing. There was no hint of denying the reality of the Mafia in the post that you responded to, after all.

You sure? I don't think that that's a very accurate description of what's going on with the swamp. Like his first term, his efforts have been largely directed towards draining the swamp of the good and useful parts, while adding to and condensing the rotten and reviled parts that stink to high heaven. The "swamp" term is invoking the quality of the people, after all, not the money.
 
The Mafia was big because it was supported and protected by the CIA.
As always, the CIA has been in the business of picking and choosing the Drug Cartels it wants to work with that go along with US global dominance and provide off-the-books money against the other drug dealers.

I don't think denying the reality was the point.

It does rather put into perspective whatever it is the Minnesota Somalians are being accused of, which appears to be some kind of systematic social security fiddle. Whether that's real or not will be interesting to discover.

The ballroom essentially becomes a shed for what’s being built under by the military. Including from drones.

The glass is extremely thick, It’s high grade bullet proof glass.
