No president gets to do that. And if they could, what difference would it make where that property originated before it was government property?

Trump would like to try, but I don't think he'll find a way that has any realistic possibility of working. (But I never would have thought he could come as close to overturning an election as he came on 6 January 2021, so my opinions on this come from someone who has already been wrong about this sort of thing.)

With respect to the midterms, however, Trump will try, and some of his methods will be at least partially successful, and some of his methods will be illegal. (I won't be wrong about that.)

It's not. Nobody tried to assassinate Biden, for example. And I don't recall anyone on this forum hoping that he does get assassinated. But that's a regularly expressed wish with regards to Trump.

ETA: It also hasn't escaped my notice that nobody is criticizing this wish for Trump's assassination.
