There does seem to be a total lack of a plan.
And this is what scares me. No way Trump can force regime change just by air strikes alone, And since the oppostion seems t have no organized military arm, it would have to be done by US boots on the ground. And that is something I don't even want t think about.
Also I have to think Iran will now lift the restrictions it has placed on Hezbollah and other groups not to directly attack US Interest or personnel because Iran did not want war with the US. Now it has a war with the US, the gloves will come off.

But I am surprised they got the Ayatollah so early in the game. If he was at his residence, then he desreves a nominatin for the Darwin Award, since anybody with any sense in his position would have taken shelter in one of the Iranian undergroun wat facilities a long time ago.

No, they are not. Apparently, they don't see this as a Holy War of Muslims vs Jews. What do you know that they don't?

That's the problem that will lead to massive instability in the region: none of the other States have the religious legitimacy the Ayatollah has/had.
The States won't side with Iran, but many of their citizens will, making a 9/11 in Israel sometime in the future pretty much inevitable.

Yes, and no doubt that the Iranian state will have a replacement for Khamenei. After all, he was well into his eighties. They can't have thought he was going to live much longer anyway.

He was a fundamentalist religious leader. He was 86. He had survived Israel sponsored terrorist attacks in an attempt at assassinating him previously. He would accept what happens as the will of God.

Palestinians (sp.) will solve their own "Palestinian problem" --- by becoming more engaged with Israel; by extending partnerships with Israel; by rejecting their own Islamic-Fundamentalist terror groups who were sponsored by Iran.

Looking at a map of washington DC there are barracks in the city with adjacent civilian buildings. Are the US marines relying on human shields? Do we know if the barracks was occupied or were the residents dispersed?

I think it should be remembered that Israel has a track record of attacking schools in Gaza. Being deliberately destructive and trying to make the general population suffer by destroying infrastructure.
