Trump's promised ICE raids have begun

I used to give this a "Wow." Now it's so frequent that I give it a "Sad." Soon I'll need a "Shrug, what else is new?"
That abduction has negligent discharge written all over it. Where, besides movies, do you see some idiot smacking someone in the face with a handgun? During an icehole interaction, that's where. That's not what that weapon is for, ◊◊◊◊ face! It's for shooting protesters who say mean things, spit on the ground, or kick your car.

Same. It takes a lot for me to get out the 'Wow' emoji these days. Dump and his cult still manage it from time to time, of course, they're masters at coming up with shocking new ways to hurt people.

French technology giant Capgemini has announced it will sell its US subsidiary after its work locating people for immigration enforcement agency ICE sparked outrage.

Capgemini has come under pressure from French lawmakers over a contract its subsidiary signed with ICE, amid international scrutiny over the methods used by the agency's agents in Minnesota.

Capgemini Government Solutions has been under contract since 18 December to provide "skip tracing services for enforcement and removal operations", public records show.

Capgemini, one of the largest listed companies in France, said in a statement that it had not been able "to exercise appropriate control over certain aspects of this subsidiary's operations in order to ensure alignment with the Group's objectives".

It added that "the divestiture process of this business will be initiated immediately".

No stupid, no one wants that. What they don't want is the kidnapping of children, or lawless murdering federal agents running amok in their communities.

No they aren't you stupid ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ gaslighting moron. Which you'll find out if the midterms aren't ◊◊◊◊◊◊ with.

Jagoff.
Main thing for me is, I don't want people held in detainment camps because some ill trained poorly educated goon decided he couldnt show to their satisfaction that they are a legal resident or citizen. Since Im a white guy who speaks with an American accent im not at risk for that. But unlike thr MAGA crowd I believe in universal rights, and have empathy for other people.

They'll just shoot you if you look at them wrong.

Quoting Hanson’s mantra about political correctness and stifling free speech does not help you at all.
Still a piss poor effort at poisoning the well. Something doesn't automatically become false just because Hanson says it and if somebody else says something similar, it doesn't mean that they are quoting Hanson. I haven't listened to a word that woman has had to say for at least 20 years.

But if you believe that we are still free to say what we want in spite of the raft of "vilification" laws that have been passed around the country then you are beyond reasoning with.

The two federal immigration agents who fired on Minneapolis protester Alex Pretti are identified in government records as Border Patrol agent Jesus Ochoa and Customs and Border Protection officer Raymundo Gutierrez.

The records viewed by ProPublica list Ochoa, 43, and Gutierrez, 35, as the shooters during the deadly encounter last weekend that left Pretti dead and ignited massive protests and calls for criminal investigations.

Both men were assigned to Operation Metro Surge, an immigration enforcement dragnet launched in December that sent scores of armed and masked agents across the city.

CBP, which employs both men, has so far refused to release their names and has disclosed few other facts about the deadly incident, which came days after a different immigration agent shot and killed another Minneapolis protester, a 37-year-old mother of three named Renee Good.

To my eyes those names look suspiciously like immigrant names and darker skin color. I wonder if they are constantly looking over their shoulder in fear that their colleagues will fill their quota by detaining them.

Both are from South Texas. Ochoa goes by "Jesse", not Jesus. Ochoa's ex-wife says he grew up dreaming of getting a job with Border Patrol. "By the time the couple split in 2021, he had become a gun enthusiast with about 25 rifles, pistols and shotguns, Angelica Ochoa said."

It looks to me as though a good guy with a gun (Pretti) failed to stop a gang of bad guys with guns (CBP). Good for him; by not reaching for his gun, he did the right thing, and lost his life. By reaching for their guns, and firing them into a disarmed man, a couple of CBP agents did the wrong thing. It remains to be seen whether those agents will suffer any consequences.

They can be pardoned, surely?
If it starts to look like they might face federal charges Trump will almost certainly issue pre-emptive pardons for them both, and likely Ross as well.

Of course that won't help them with state charges, but the Trump admin is obviously obstructing state agencies to make sure that doesn't happen either.

Long before this Trump and ICE thing I had imagined we could have some sort of national register of people in law enforcement. I would find some lawyer to word it in legalese, but there would be state level boards to handle the behavior. Not as courts, but as bans fore life. Once you reached a number of misdeeds of smaller scale or a bigger one (murder) you get put on the federal register. You will be banned for life from law enforcement. You will never get any compensation, PTSD treatment etc. You are out.

I say this as one who really has not suffered too much. But I did spend 5 minutes in hand cauffs on the back seat of a suburban police car once.

Lynwood, CA — Footage shows an ICE agent pistol whipping a 16-year-old boy in the face with a handgun as the teen appears to be raising his hands and unarmed. Other officers violently force him to the ground, kneeling on his back into a curb, in the presence of an attack dog, as local residents shout at the agents to stop hurting him.

I think I see the word police on the back of one of the officers; therefore, I am not at all sure that this is ICE. I am not defending their actions.
