The future of the US is one without corruption .. at least in comparison to Trump.

"White House ballroom construction derangement syndrome is real and is currently dominating the rhetoric of the nation’s political Left. Their sole purpose in life appears to be just to be angry over anything and everything President Donald Trump does, even when the accusations are a complete detachment from reality. Like nearly everything these people say anymore, their antics are not grounded in reality and are completely unhinged
"Nothing beside remains.""What Trump is doing is completely different. The ballroom he is constructing will likely survive as a symbol of American power long after we are all gone.

America’s Golden Age is underway, and the best is yet to come.
Inflation is down. Energy prices are down. And real wages are up.
In 2026, working Americans will see bigger refunds and higher take-home pay thanks to President Trump and the One Big Beautiful Bill.

The Federal Government was preparing to "surge" San Francisco, California, on Saturday, but friends of mine who live in the area called last night to ask me not to go forward with the surge in that the Mayor, Daniel Lurie, was making substantial progress. I spoke to Mayor Lurie last night and he asked, very nicely, that I give him a chance to see if he can turn it around. I told him I think he is making a mistake, because we can do it much faster, and remove the criminals that the Law does not permit him to remove. I told him, "It's an easier process if we do it, faster, stronger, and safer but, let's see how you do?" The people of San Francisco have come together on fighting Crime, especially since we began to take charge of that very nasty subject. Great people like Jensen Huang, Marc Benioff, and others have called saying that the future of San Francisco is great. They want to give it a "shot."
Therefore, we will not surge San Francisco on Saturday. Stay tuned!
This one and the RFK thread make me want a drink. Every time I open them. A break is a good idea.I can't take all this ◊◊◊◊. I'm taking a break from this thread.
They tell blatant lies as if they are truths. I never thought we would live in an Orweillian dicatatorship, but here we are.FTFY

This is Dr Oz’s explanation of TrumpMath “The president does the calculation by saying, ‘Okay, if a drug was $100 and you reduce it to $50, it’s 100% cheaper because you’re taking $50 off and left with only $50, so the amount you took off the price is equal to the amount that’s left. And to think that all the stories that feature Nazis in control of the USA have them invading the States somehow. Ehm, no, actually, they just ran for office and the Americans happily voted them into power. Twice.I never thought we would live in an Orweillian dicatatorship, but here we are.
Presumably the same maths he used to calculate the floor space in his apartment….Trump math:

Indeed. If it turns out anything like Mar-A-Lago or what he's done to the Oval Office, I expect the ballroom to end up in the same gaudy, over-gilt, 70's Vegas Pimp style that only he likes.I have no doubt that the ballroom with be slapped together with the shottiest, cheapest, below bargain basement materials and workmanship.
You’d think a doctor, at the very least, would know that gorging on any ***hole, let alone an ancient and decaying one, would be detrimental to his health and well being.Trump math:

The images of the proposed interior seem to be mostly windows. That's not going to be cheap to keep warm in a D.C. winter.Indeed. He's really going all in. The entire East Wing will be demolished—historical preservation be damned. And I'm seeing reporting that the budget has jumped to $300 million. No consultation with Congress. No involvement from the National Park Service. No competitive selection of the architect. Donald Trump is still basking in the illusion that he is (or ever was) a successful real-estate developer—the guy who managed to lose nearly a billion dollars...in the casino industry.

That whole "privately funded, not costing the taxpayers anything" line the administration is trumpeting is more than a little specious too- as if it's somehow better that the money to fund renovation of a public building should come from private sources that Trump will now be beholden to rather than the public source that he should more properly always be.
