General Israel/Palestine discussion thread - Part 4

For the Egyptians to keep their side closed against aid delivery? I don't know why they do that.
(Israel, for its part, transits aid into Gaza via Kerem Shalom, a major cargo facility)

From the perspective of aid, in general, the Americans are making sure that some further effort is made, however that translates to real Gazan assistance, or just more going into HAMAS storehouses?

"Israel announced Sunday evening that it would renew the supply of humanitarian aid to Gaza, after previously announcing that it would pause the supply due to Hamas' violations of the ceasefire.

Earlier on Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed the IDF to suspend aid to Gaza following Hamas' attack on IDF soldiers in Rafah."

Good that the USA is doing its best to stop Israel from restarting their genocide agenda.

This is what Gaza City looks like now. Imagine being forced out of your home, then finally after two years being allowed to go home, and this is what you find:

The couple’s 10-year-old daughter Yusra is also sifting through the wreckage, trying to find her things.

“We came back and found the house bombed,” she said.

“I was sitting, looking for my books and pencils and my stuff [because] … it’s been two years since I’ve been to school.

“The thing I miss the most in the house is my bedroom and my toys, my stuff, and my bed.”

No need to imagine.

Here we are, two years after the worst single-day massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, and many Israelis are trying to reassemble their shattered lives, their loved ones are dead, entire towns were cleansed of their residents (communities along the Lebanese border are struggling with mass displacement, economic collapse, and severe emotional traumas following sustained cross-border attacks by Hezbollah, in support of HAMAS).

You want Palestinians in Gaza to reconstruct? They will, but without HAMAS, that's the condicio sine qua non of the current ceasefire. You think the Palestinians should have been able to have a peaceful and quiet situation, while Israelis are forced to suffer under rocket-fire, and ongoing threats of attack by terrorists? Not a credible proposition.

"The thing I miss the most, is my bedroom, my toys, and my bed..." -- words that Ariel Bibas might have spoken, were he and his baby brother Kfir still alive.

Palestinians have a lot more on their agenda than simply reconstruction.

In fact, the reconstruction will not even begin until certain other requirements and conditions of the 20-point Program are met.

"The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas is not in danger of collapsing" -- Chairman of the Board (PeaceBoard).

VP JD is on the way to Israel for a little chat.
Maybe he'll pull a rabbit out of his hat.

For balance what is the worst single day massacre of Palestinians? Massacres didn't begin with Hamas on 7 October the IDF has been carrying massacres of Palestinians for decades.

I am sure the thousands of Palestinian children killed or mutilated by the IDF would echo this sentiment. Not just in Gaza, but in the West bank.

Who has killed more children? IDF or Hamas?

Only two infants (children <2) were killed on 7 October, one of those probably by IDF.

Authorities have identified a total of 274 soldiers and 859 non-soldiers killed during the brutal assault. The latter figure includes 57 Israel Police officers and 38 local security officers. It is unclear which of these individuals were on duty when killed. Removing those victims leaves a figure of 764 civilians.....two infants, 12 other children under the age of 10, 36 civilians aged 10-19

Is al-Jazeera affiliated with HAMAS?

Uh, yeah....

According to the propaganda outlet Arutz Sheva, sure. We've already established Arutz Sheva's foundation in religious Zionism. And yet they're your go-to source for information. 🙄

I hope you don't mind if I dismiss your obvious religious propaganda with disdain.

Did you know that Arutz Sheva broadcasts in three languages? The first two are obviously Hebrew and English, but do you know what the third is? Russian. Isn't that interesting?
