General Israel/Palestine discussion thread - Part 4

Your wrong. Those women and children were all HAMAS - or supported it - and so deserved to be slaughtered. Also the doctors, aid workers and journalists who were slaughtered - all HAMAS supporters teh lot of them. Also anyone whose critical of how Israel is handling the genocide conflict, or who doesn't explicitly support Israel in there efforts to stop the violence.
I assume you're being sarcastic here.

You're confused. The USA is not going to commit genocide against the Palestinian people, contrary to your racist sadistic wishes.

Short memories are endemic.

"Genocide Joe" (Biden) was a popular meme during his term as POTUS. He was blamed directly for supplying weaponry to Israel. (His Adminstration decided to halt deliveries, lest the USA be implicated in the use of American arms for Israel's war aims).
Trump kinda doesn't really care what strategy Israel's military pursues as their war aims. Let 'em have at it, is his position.
Even more than that, he's intimated that the US military will become involved in some fashion.
(HAMAS will ignore his boisterous threats, apparently)

Whatever happened to "Speak softly and carry a Big Stick?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I note, after repeated attempts to get an answer, that the question still remains --- "What would YOU do if given a magic wand to wave and resolve the Gaza imbroglio?"
("PalestineState" is too vague as a response, let's see something that's more concrete and direct to the current situation of Hadar Goldin (for example) et al, which is holding things up currently; and is a resolution that's better than the EXISTING deal of 20 Points that's been approved by nearly all Arab neighbors in the region and beyond.)
Now, in the aftermath of the living hostages' return, TheWorld™ must adjust to the fact that HAMAS has no intention of being disarmed, let alone giving up Gaza to some sort of theoretical technocratic and international government.
And...???
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

IDF is starting to demarcate the "Yellow Lines" with actual, physical markers. (Maybe putting up that ubiquitous Caution tape used to define off-limits construction sites).

"Crossing into the no-man's land we create will result in your immediate demise" seems to be the operative warning.

Why are you trying to downplay the enormity of what Israel has done? Why are you trying to discount the feelings of those they have harmed? Nothing Hamas has done justifies the slaughter of tens of thousands of children. Nothing Hamas has done absolves Israel of its crimes against humanity.
My answer hasn't changed since the last time you asked this question.

You absolutely did that. You're framing the issue as "rotting corpses", as if the Israelis are foolish to want the remains of their loved ones back. It's a crappy framing and you know it.
Viewing 19 rotting corpses as having more value than 2 million living people, is pretty sick.

In WWII, the Allies maintained the policy of unconditional surrender towards Germany. We know that some Nazis tried to reach a settlement with the Allies allowing them to remain. The Allies did not detour from unconditional surrender. As a result, millions of civilian Germans were wounded, raped, and killed up to the end of the war. Were the Allies wrong to maintain the policy? Should they have negotiated with Himmler, allowing Nazi officials to stay in place? Or was it right to keep going until the political ideology that led to war was wiped out?

Take it to the appropriate thread.

18. (maybe 17 by tomorrow, as the ICRC is being told to send in a transport/morgue truck for another coffin of remains after midnight).

The Turks (about 80 team members) are being told to stand by, because Israel doesn't want them starting to roll around Gaza with their heavy earthmovers all willy-nilly, and end up being hijacked by HAMAS, with the Turks now becoming human shields/hostages, and their equipment now becoming part of HAMAS' offensive tactics --- imagine what an IDF tank crew would have to do if a terrorist crew used a Caterpillar bulldozer and drove right into the fortification position, guns & RPG's ablazing!

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

IDF continues to fire at and destroy threatening HAMAS encroachments, this time, as a terrorist crew emerged from a tunnel right under the noses of the static position the Israeli troops were sitting within.

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Anyone see news reports about the GHF operations? That group has now stopped working in Gaza.

Living? Or...?
It's right now the "or..." and since no prior announcements are being made of which skeletal remains the Red Cross is picking up, the Israeli public and hostage familes just have to wait until AbuKabir runs their dna tests for identification and notification.

HAMAS announced they couldn't find any more, then 24 hours later, voila, they find more.
Still no comment from the Egyptians who are in Gaza attempting to figure out where additional bodies may be.
It's a strange silence, under the circumstances.

Either way, I am sorry for your loss for what it might be worth 😥
It's worth knowing that so many people worldwide have our backs.
While others, only want to twist the knife in our backs.

The loss is to the entire Israeli nation.
T-Y.

The Rafah Crossing, when it does eventually reopen, will do so only for the movement of Palestinians in both directions, not for the entry of aid. (From the article Hercules56 linked as a source)

A bigger risk would seem to be one of the unexploded armoured vehicles packed with explosives abandoned by the IDF. A suicide attack using one of those would be far more dangerous.

That IDF is breaking the cease fire by killing Palestinians is no surprise.

That the GHF has immediately folded and left the supply of humanitarian aid to traditional NGO shows that they were never intended to deliver aid but to control the Palestinian population.

164-million meals is "not intending to deliver aid" ??
(GHF folded because it's out of money)

IDF is not breaking anything. Israeli troops are under strict orders to hold fire, unless the 'yellow line' is crossed.
(That boundary is perhaps not as well-marked as it requires, and I'm reading that physical limit markings are being installed to designate the off-limits zones).
HAMAS is in violation, however. Their extrajudicial killings are causing concerns.

Gaza Media Office? Are they perhaps affiliated with HAMAS? The same HAMAS that is attempting to create a scenario in Gaza whereby they can get the International Community to directly intervene (with some sort of armed forces) on their behalf?

Israel is not ignoring the ceasefire. That is a ridiculous claim.

IDF is not ignoring the deal. If anything, the restraint of the Israeli troops is quite remarkable, considering they are 'sitting ducks' at this point, and every movement in their direction towards those static bases and positions is a serious threat. (Tragically, Gazans are the ones 'ignoring' the ceasefire lines and entering areas that are no-mans' zones)

BTW, aid is continuing to enter Gaza, along with cooking gas (propane), petrol & diesel, food, medical and other assistance.
