General Israel/Palestine discussion thread - Part 4

The UN had no problem getting that much aid and more into Gaza - guess Israel is just way more incompetent that the UN.

You seem to forget that aid was transferred into the way-station, but there weren't many truck drivers on the Gaza side willing to go get it. They perhaps realized it was a mission just to supply HAMAS, and declined to participate.

ThePrestige is accurate. HAMAS could very easily lay down their arms and surrender.
Nearly the entire Arab world is saying they should.

got nothing to do with the Ceasefire Deal, unlike Israel blocking aid, which very much does.

This is not a Popularity Contest; it's about whether either side can stick to the deal for even a day, and, as I said days ago, who is the arbiter to decide whether the deal was broken, and how the situation can be remedied.

Anyone who wants this extremely pro-Israel deal to succeed should be horrified that Israel not only can decide that the other side broke the deal, but also what the appropriate response should be - the Trump Deal might not exist at all for level of commitment Israel is giving it.
◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊. Hamas apologetics is disgusting.

I notice that Hercules56 offered no response to my post regarding his incorrect view of the timeline as HAMAS grabbed Gaza.

The Gazans themselves have a chance right now to reject HAMAS, or embrace them.
This is the opportunity being presented by the International Community. And specifically the USA.
Carrot/Stick. Choose wisely, Palestine!

Meanwhile, in Israel, a gathering of international speakers, live performances and networking, all celebrating innovation, resilience and global connections.

If Israel is indeed motivated by genocide—rather than, say, Israeli hostages—we may safely assume they will not stop waging war now.

Lies.

Israel started the conflict with Gaza as soon as Hamas won the election.

Israel imposed their inhumane embargo and restrictions right away, without even giving the new govt a chance.

Which eventually led us to 10/7.
Whatever you do, don’t tell the full story. Which is that Israel withdrew armed forces and settlements in 2005, letting Palestine know that if they could rule themselves properly, they would be left alone. I have absolutely no doubt that there would be a stable Palestine now if Palestinians acted honourable. Instead they elected Hamas. And the rockets rained on Israel in greater numbers.

Hamas has been the architect of Gaza’s fate, culminating in the terrorist invasion of two years ago, with its rape and murder of women and children. No country with the ability to retaliate would hesitate to do so. They tried the less lethal pathway (yes embargoes) but Hamas was determined to wage war.

Hamas is responsible for this conflict.

They may not need to now that Hamas is killing Palestinians for them. Some dudes just got to kill, the victims are irrelevant.

Well Hamas is refusing to disarm until there is a state of Palestine. Everyone should know the only state they will possibly agree to (and maybe not even then) is one that includes all the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Since 10/7 that won’t happen.

I hope that Hamas will disarm and sensible Palestinians will take over. But history tells us that this won’t happen.

Without thousands of US troops in Gaza, nobody is getting disarmed.
Trump wouldn't send US troops into Gaza. He'll order airstrikes and level it from above.

Some people think Israel's committing genocide? That's nothing compared to what the US will do under Trump. To Trump, Gaza is waterfront property that isn't being developed by the right people (himself and his cronies) and currently full of people who are not being sufficiently grateful to him. He's going to have it bombed to rubble. Actual rubble, not the hyperbolic Israel-is-the-worst-ever rubble. You really think he won't do it? He's an insane narcissist who reacts badly when he thinks he's being thwarted.

The world, including Israel, imposed inhumane sanctions on Gaza without a shot being fired.
The claim was specific: "Israel imposed their inhumane embargo and restrictions right away, without even giving the new govt a chance."

Now, we're treated to an amazing backtrack, after I corrected this misapprehension about the circumstances and realities of that period (decades ago).

HAMAS is a designated terrorist organization by many nations. (First in 1997 by the Americans)
You are welcome to research why that is. (SPOILER: Shots Were Fired! see: Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigade)

This got much worse and lasted till Oct 7, 2023.

Indeed, HAMAS wanted it to be much worse; Obviously, they've succeeded beyond their imagination!

Take that Bibi!!
The Prime Minister of the Jewish State of Israel has a primary interest to make sure that HAMAS no longer has operational capabilities to disrupt the Jews living here, and see to it there won't be a repeat of that worst single-day mass-murder of Jewish innocents since the Holocaust.

And I think that Hercules56 generally makes false analogies with regards to who or what is comparable to WwII nazis, TBH. But, it's his schtick here, so there's that.

Bibi is doing a pretty good job with managing a lot of "moving parts" related to this conflict, all things considered.
He's got another thing that needs to be handled, in the interim.

Israel and the international community had a year to deal with the possibility of Hamas winning the election. Instead they allowed them to run, allowed them to campaign. Its called democracy.

Were all parties running for parliament seats required to first swear to uphold existing peace agreements, recognize Israel's right to exist and reject violence, in order to win seats? Nope.

But all of the sudden, Hamas wins, and the world decides to punish Gaza for using their democratic rights.

Morons.
