That ham sandwich looks guilty, I tell you. That's what the body language experts told me.Well, Comey was indicted, so it did get past the grand jury.

Former FBI director James Comey was indicted on criminal charges Thursday... Comey was charged with making a false statement and obstruction in a criminal case... The charge of making a false statement stems from testimony Comey made to Congress five years ago. Republicans have accused both Comey and his successor, Andrew McCabe, of lying about leaks to the media.
Of course they still have to convince the jury at trial, and also hope that they don't run into a judge who thinks various Trump statements have biased the jury.
I have zero mixed feelings about this. While the October surprise was ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊, this indictment or worse a conviction, will make Trump and the DOJ ramp up their use of the courts to attack political opponents. His vengeance will now have a more vindictive turn as opposed to just railing on social media.I am going to admit.... I have mixed feelings on this. I recognize that it is a bogus/revenge prosecution, and for that reason I hope the Trump administration loses. On the other hand, I have very little sympathy for Comey, since I feel that his "october surprise" (announcing a new investigation into Clinton's emails) in the 2016 election is one of the reasons we are in the mess we are in. (Without that announcement, maybe Democrats get a slightly higher turnout, maybe they win a few of the swing states that they lost, and Trump goes down as another loser candidate rather than the guy who is helping destroy America.)
That's what you get for doing everything in your power to get the man installed in 2016 James.Bump! Do we have a winner???
Just days after Trump castigated Blondi for not prosecuting his enemies fast enough!
A leopard's favorite kind; twice a many faces. That's what you get for doing everything in your power to get the man installed in 2016 James.
In Trump's new ballroom.Where will the trial be held?
You are of course assuming that the Trump bootlickers he has installed as his personal gestapo enforcers at the DOJ are actually able to think and act rationally. Even if they had failed to secure an indictment against Comey, they still might have continued their attempts to "hurt all Trump opponents" even if they failed time and time again.Well, I was wrong and they were able to secure an indictment. I figured they would end up like Pirro.I am going to admit.... I have mixed feelings on this. There is also the fact that even if they have someone competent prosecutors in the case, a lot of these trials are gong to take place in Washington DC (since that's where "the crimes" were supposedly to have occurred), and Washington is not exactly Trump-friendly at this time.In my view, the only hope is that these will be inept prosecutions. Most of the competent prosecutors seem to have left, or are leaving, the DOJ and you have only inexperienced flunkies as U.S. Attorneys and AUSAs. And as we've noted elsewhere, DOJ officials love to shoot their mouths off on social media, which is generally something judges don't like.
I know they will keep going, but every "win" like this stokes the flames imo. It also starts leading to public perception that maybe Trump is right. You are of course assuming that the Trump bootlickers he has installed as his personal gestapo enforcers at the DOJ are actually able to think and act rationally. Comey was charged in the Eastern District of Virginia. That’s a much more conservative jury pool. The upside is that EDVa has a reputation for not tolerating shenanigans. There is also the fact that even if they have someone competent prosecutors in the case, a lot of these trials are gong to take place in Washington DC (since that's where "the crimes" were supposedly to have occurred), and Washington is not exactly Trump-friendly at this time.
Not likely. There is also the fact that even if they have someone competent prosecutors in the case...
No. Federal court proceedings are not televised. Can we hope it'll be televised?
New York Attorney General Letitia James was indicted Thursday in Alexandria, Virginia
It's not gonna stop, either.New York Attorney General Letitia James was indicted Thursday in Alexandria, Virginia, as President Donald Trump’s Justice Department continues to pursue charges against his political opponents, two sources familiar with the matter told CNN.
James has been under investigation since May over a 2023 mortgage she took out to help her niece buy a home in Norfolk, Virginia.
The charges come as Trump continues to call for his enemies to be prosecuted in court. Former FBI Director James Comey pleaded not guilty Wednesday to allegedly making a false statement in a congressional proceeding. The Justice Department has also opened investigation into former Trump national security adviser John Bolton, California Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff, and others.
What was her crime?
Disrespect of Trump.Mortgage fraud apparently.
That's not a crime. Yet.Disrespect of Trump.
