On a semi-related topic, Brits are being insulted and chastised for doing the unthinkable: waving the British or English flag.
WTF is going on over there?
WTF is going on over there?
I thought we might share a cringe "how do you do, fellow kids" moment, what with you repeated "kool", so I appropriated a gen A expression, to out-cringe you. Must have misfired.Eight nine?
Given the ideology of Trump's government there is no way they would ever allow it to become a crime.Should it be a crime to campaign to kill Nazis?
Well I could explain it to you but your utter lack of understanding of the UK political situation would make it a waste of effort. On a semi-related topic, Brits are being insulted and chastised for doing the unthinkable: waving the British or English flag.

Insane that waving your national flag would be seen as an unacceptable provocation.Well I could explain it to you but your utter lack of understanding of the UK political situation would make it a waste of effort.
Suffice it to say "flag shaggers" are an understood thing here and they're all far right loons.
That's not what is happening. Again, you have no idea what you're talking about.Insane that waving your national flag would be seen as an unacceptable provocation.
Especially on your own property.
Are you saying no private property owners have been asked to take down their British or English flag? That's not what is happening. Again, you have no idea what you're talking about.
Yes, that's exactly the disingenuous way the flag shaggers present it.Insane that waving your national flag would be seen as an unacceptable provocation.
Especially on your own property.
Oh, yeah. "Arbitrarily censor". You're totally understanding what we are talking about. No, we're simply not supposed to arbitrarily censor or criminalize what they say.
Oh, yeah. "Benevolent authoritarian regime" is totally what's being discussed. You are totally not flying off the rails with your ride on the Imagination Train.Contrary to what some people here believe there is no such thing as a benevolent authoritarian regime.
Waving your national flag on your property should not be a controversial issue. It should be no different than growing grass on your lawn. The UK is very odd.Yes, that's exactly the disingenuous way the flag shaggers present it.

Oh, yeah. "Benevolent authoritarian regime" is totally what's being discussed....
It sounds as if you are describing what is happening in the US now, not the UK.Yes, its literally what you are calling for.
Cracking down on freedom of speech and freedom of assembly, in order to protect society. A police state that monitor social media for unacceptable speech. Maybe even emails?
Encouraging whistleblowers to turn in these evildoers.
Yep, a benevolent authoritarian regime.
But we all know, it never works out well.
You either have a free society where people have to put on their big boy pants and tolerate some not nice words, for the greater good of a free society. Or we have an authoritarian regime police state.
Guess you haven't been reading the thread. Lots of people here calling for All sorts of nonviolent speech to be criminalized in the UK. Some folks even calling for people to be physically assaulted based on their views. It sounds as if you are describing what is happening in the US now, not the UK.
I think we are supposed to welcome nazis that shove mulberry branches into your eye in the spirit of living in a healthy democracy.
In which thread are they saying that?Guess you haven't been reading the thread. Lots of people here calling for All sorts of nonviolent speech to be criminalized in the UK. Some folks even calling for people to be physically assaulted based on their views.

If your flag is soo horrible and racist why dont you change it?The symbolism of the cross of St George especially has loooooooong been co-opted by the far right, neo-fascist groups, racists and the like, as I'm sure a keen student of 20th century UK history, such as your good self, will be fully aware, let alone its symbolism going as far back as the Crusades or the Unionist version in the Six Counties with the Red Hand of Ulster in the middle.
There are many, many, many very unsavoury connotations. The Union Flag, less so, but there can still be some.
It is nowhere near as simple as "the British or English flag".
Ah, i see how this misunderstanding has arisen; you haven't read it yet. Kool. This one.
