If it's true, then it's all true: The building had drug dealers, and foreign gang members in the country illegally. It sucks for the innocent neighbors. Hopefully they'll be able to sleep better at night, now that the raid is over.what would you say if it was true?
nothing i’m sure

If my kids were taken naked and zip tied into a rental van at 1AM by my own government, and my door smashed in and apertment trashed, I'm feeling like I wouldn't be sleeping well in the foreseeable future. If it's true, then it's all true: The building had drug dealers, and foreign gang members in the country illegally. It's basic police practice to detain people at the scene of an investigation. I see it happen all the time. Personally I don't stigmatize zip ties over handcuffs, but obviously I can't dictate how you feel about the two. I will say that only one person claims to have been zip-tied, and they were not a naked child. If you're going to stipulate that the claims are true, then you need to stick to what was actually claimed, and not fill in the blanks with your preferred narrative. If my kids were taken naked and zip tied into a rental van at 1AM by my own government, and my door smashed in and apertment trashed, I'm feeling like I wouldn't be sleeping well in the foreseeable future.

Bwahahahahaha... thanks for another laugh, and also for once again proving me right.

That's kind of the problem. Every occupant of that apartment building was not being investigated, but they were all treated as if they were. For our law enforcement agencies to globally target buildings instead of specific individuals with such draconian measures is invasive to our rights. It's basic police practice to detain people at the scene of an investigation.
Zip ties and cuffs are the same tool, IMO. Cuffs would have been just as bad.I see it happen all the time. I've seen several reports of this (and I had to dig) and interviews with witnesses, beyond what is posted here, so I'll cop to considering evidence not presented to the thread, conceded. If you're going to stipulate that the claims are true, then you need to stick to what was actually claimed, and not fill in the blanks with your preferred narrative.
I liken it to terrorists using human shields. Sometimes you just have to round every one up, and then separate the wheat from the chaff. That's kind of the problem. Cuffs would have been just as good, in my opinion.Zip ties and cuffs are the same tool, IMO. Cuffs would have been just as bad.

In such a situation, yes, you might. I am not convinced this was such a situation.I liken it to terrorists using human shields. Sometimes you just have to round every one up, and then separate the wheat from the chaff.
It's nice of you to cede someone else's Constitutional rights for them.I liken it to terrorists using human shields. Sometimes you just have to round every one up, and then separate the wheat from the chaff.

It is very easy to accept collateral damage when you're not it. Or at least it seems so, for some.
