Trump's Second Term

I think the legacy media gets a bit of a bad rap. Their job is to report the news, not interpret it. Also, I don't know if media outlets such as MSN, CNN, Politico, HuffPost, Daily Beast, are considered legacy or not, but they trash trump on a regular basis. But when trump says he's going to reduce drug prices by 1000%, up to 1400%, I think his words speak clearly. Why would a news reporter have to 'fact check' them?

Related, I have noticed around the world -- Canada, Mexico, Britain, Europe -- people are increasingly convinced there's something wrong with trump. A mental/emotional disorder, advancing senility, something. This goes beyond the stereotypical -- "Aw, he's crazy" -- to people seriously stating that trump's behavior has gone beyond normal politics, beyond conservatism. That the way trump carries on -- day-after-freaking-day -- has become irrational. And the people I've seen in interviews who say this, they don't say it in the usual critical way. They state it as a given. That the problem has become, not trump's policies and strategies, but that there is something wrong. That trump no longer behaves like a normal person (or even a normal con man).

It is scary. None of us know how this nightmare may play out.
On the one hand, I know the media channels are incredibly important. On the other hand, I really wish they'd treat Dump as critically as they would regular politicians. Not only does that enable MAGA, it also hurts the credibility of the media. Even the various media channels here in Norway do it, and they've got no reason to fear reprisals from Drumpf. There's no reason for them to not be as critical of his health as they were Biden's, cover Project 2025 properly instead of letting the MAGAs set the narrative ("Project twentytwenty-what, Dear Leader clearly said he's never heard of it"), or the SCOTUS ruling...

I don't know if it is that after eight years of Dump he's been so normalized that the press thinks it's not interesting to us to hear about anymore, or if they're afraid of their ratings, or what, but it's so annoying.
And yes, I know it's the dozenth time I've vented about this and that I'm preaching to the choir. It's just so incredibly frustrating.

Yup, and probably the same hypocritical idiots who complained that the dems were hiding Biden's alleged mental decline are now saying that there's nothing wrong with the fat clown.

Like I've been saying, trumpsplaining is now the new stupid.
Most of those who buy into the trumsplaining are, shall I be charitable, not too bright. Those who do the trumsplaining are downright dishonest.

Trump: We will have reduced drug prices by 1000%, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1400. Not 30 or 50%. Numbers the likes of which you’ve never even dreamed of before.
He is right: These are numbers I have never dreamed of before.

But isn't this old news? He said something very similar some months ago. Or has he just repeated this obvious nonsense?

Is he going to change the math curriculum?

Who put Stephen Miller in charge of anything?

.
@StephenM
: Comey, Clapper, Brennan, Obama, Monaco, all conspired together to try to sabotage the democratic institutions of this country. I cannot find words harsh enough to condemn the conduct of these conspirators — these insurrectionists.

Oh yeah, I forgot.

Also too.

Aug. 26: Stephen Miller says "the Democrat Party is not a political party. It is a domestic extremist organization."Sept. 25: Miller put in charge of coordinating a federal campaign to prosecute "domestic terrorist organizations."

I was in the UK a few weeks ago in a training session with about a dozen people, mostly from the UK and EU but 3 people from the US, 2 of whom I know are Trump supporters.

Over lunch the conversation turned to Trump and the whole room was laughing and him and the US. I glanced over at the americans and they were just sitting there shifting uncomfortably in their seats while the rest of the room openly mocked their president and country. I can't imagine how embarrassing it must be to be am american abroad, realizing that your homeland has become a laughing stock.

Its probably even worse for those that can't stand him. They know they are tainted by him nonetheless.
I just got back from Greece and Turkey, and so far this has not been the case, at least for the group I was with. Perhaps it helps that the people we've met in Nat. Geo/Lindblad expeditions are almost 100 percent anti-Trump already, but the local people were very nice, and more sympathetic than angry, and explicit in saying they didn't blame us for our ◊◊◊◊◊◊-up government. Of course plenty of Greeks remember how it used to be there, and plenty of Turks share the feeling.

Watters: I don't care what you call it. Revenge, retribution, accountability, who cares? It's happening. And I am enjoying it. Because these people need to be punished. If someone declares war on you, what are you going to just turn the other cheek? You are right. It is an eye for an eye, and I hope we win
But it's the Democrats who are the party of violence.
