"Socialist" is a term that European political parties liked to tag onto
their parties' names. Do they still? Probably; it's a nice frill to add to the
birthday cake. Their hope is, of course, to try to pull in votes from workers, bourgeois, and
students. Thus they reduce "socialist" to a meaningless series of sounds.
